This campground has a lot of pros with a few cons. This campground is beautiful, the lake and the creek are just incredible. This campground has amazing wildlife. There are crawfish to catch in the river and lake, trout to fish for, garter snakes, blue jays, hawks, and frogs. Our 12yr old loved catching the crawfish and frogs and wading in the river and lake. The lake does have A LOT of shallow water to wade into which was very enjoyable - the lake is very family friendly. The hosts were extremely nice and the campground was well maintained. The pit bathrooms didn't smell horrible, were stocked and clean. We were at site 13, which had an incredible view of the river. The only con to the site was the mosquitos were absolutely horrendous (we were here 7/16-7/20). There were just swarms and nothing would help keep them away. We were there 3 nights & had to leave early because we were just being eaten alive! Next time we come to this campground we will defiantly make sure we are no where near the river. The only other con was the 20 mile/1 hour drive up the horrible gravel road up to the campground. This is our second time at this campground and we might be back.
