One of the nicest parks we have stayed in. Lake Hartwell is beautiful. We did 2 trips there this year, one with Grandkids and met relatives there and one with just the two of us in late September. July was so hot but we all stayed cool in the shade and in the water. Speaking of water, it sure would be nice to have a safer and less rocky beach in the park for the campers. The weather in September was so very nice and a breeze, sometimes winds, kept us cool while we sat out be the water. I recommend staying in the sites furthest from the main road, shaded and quieter. Go back? Definitely!

Site 36: Beautiful view of the lake. It does have rocks along the shore so there is no lake access without crawling over rocks. There is an incline backing into the site which made it interesting unhooking from the truck. We had talked to a ranger prior to booking this site to see if our trailer would fit as it's 35'. Trailer fit fine, but the truck just fit without sticking out onto the road and sat at an incline. Be sure to spray for ants.

Site 65 has no shade but the biggest problem is the ANTS. They will cover you up.

Beautiful, clean park. Loved our lake front site and the kids had a wonderful time fishing and playing in the lake. Very well run! We will definitely be back!

This is a nice campground although quite dated. Compared to other COE campgrounds we've been to the sites are rather small and closely spaced. The bath houses were clean and well stocked, but again locations were not the best. One bath house w/showers was right across the road from a restroom only while the other bath house was close enough to see if not for trees. This gave some sites great access to bath houses while others were a long walk. Parking for vehicles on site was at a premium, although there were parking areas nearby. Some roads were narrow with trees close to t he roads. There was a nice boat ramp, but no swimming beach. Cell coverage and over the air TV channels was good. One loop was next to a road and within site of the lake dam which made for a lot of road noise. Only one dump station with one drain made for quite a line at the dump station near check out time. We'll go back but will be very particular as to site selection and time of year.
