We, as tax payers should be able to camp overnight at this campground.

This is a beautiful campground on Lake Lanier. It became a day use area with very limited times due to lack of staff. This is such a shame as clearly it cannot be well maintained. The sites overlook the lake, they are clean. Day use folks next to us had a big party and the sheriffs department came about five times. Dont know what that was about but it was disturbing on such a peaceful lake view site! Then they cranked the music up and thats when we left. We noticed the other Pugh park area was beyond full.overrun with people on a Sunday afternoon. There was no one at the gate to manage the crowd.

Beautiful place to visit. We have stayed at a few different campsites and everyone of them have been incredible for their different attributes. 19,20, and 21 you can get into the water. 53 an absolute beautiful overlook into the bay like area filled with fish and bait. Cant wait to try 38 and 39. Site 42 is a dream. The Staff at the entrance are friendly and helpful. We were visited by park volunteers who shared fish stories and photos. Honestly we feel like were known there. Security was perfect expect someone to come around every hour or so. A rain storm was coming and the park ranger came to look out from the pier at the rain clouds across the lake. We stayed for the rain which quickly passed. Floating on our paddle board watching the rain bounce off of the water. Twin deer fawns and mom were wondering the campground. Honestly a day at the campground fulfills you as though you had a complete vacation. I visit almost every week now.

Location and scenery were good. Unfortunately, I couldn't understand why many sites were empty and I couldn't make a reservation.

Quiet campsite on the water

One of the most beautiful campsites we've ever stayed in. Site #32 is perfectly level and has it's own large peninsula and access to a beach area shared with #33. Whole campground is well maintained and clean. Restrooms and showers are clean. Will stay here again!

We were in site 22, and the picnic table area is down the hill from the site. We had a lovely lake view, but it would not be an easy place to get in and swim. Our stay was quiet and relaxing, and laundry is only $1.50 to wash and dry in the machines at the bath house. We enjoyed our time there!

Nice quiet campground during the week. I camped alone and felt perfectly safe. I really enjoyed the little beach just down the slope from site 39. I sat in the shallow water and watched little fish swim around me. Theres no privacy from site 38, but the two would be a good option for two families to reserve together. Its a woodsy campground with sandy tent pads. My 14 x 8 tent barely fit, but I think itd be too big for most sites, so call ahead to make sure. The campground was only about a third full, so I had plenty of privacy. The sunset views on the other side of the peninsula are amazing! Saw deer several times, even a fawn, and ducks visited the cove. The hosts were plenty nice, but I didnt need much. The showers were warm and clean enough. If youre freaked out by spiders, youll probably disagree with me. All in all, a nice place to camp. I hope to return.

I was highly impressed by the park roads, restrooms, and most camp sites. Many of the sites were terrifically located and fairly private. Several Tent sites were too close but that was rare. I loved the small beaches near several campsites - these are visible from the satellite view of the campground. My main disappointment was noise. Nobody should hear the maintenance group blowing leaves at 7:30am when you are camping. The camp ground being near the lake had a party atmosphere because one set of boats anchored out of the camp site blared music until 11:00pm and the next day one family blared music from their site. If it had not been for the noise of these groups I would have rated this with five stars. Hopefully, you will not experience the same issues and will have a truly nice time camping. I will likely give it another try because it is close, cheap, and was a beautiful location.

We were a little apprehensive about this lot due to the last review, but it was the only lot available when we were making the reservation. After we got there we finally understood. There is a hill to get down to the bank from the tent pad in order to swim or fish. If you have trouble walking or climbing stairs you won't make it back up the hill. I did slip once trying to get back up. However there are stairs down to the tent pad. The view is beautiful completely shaded with trees from the hot sun! But you can still see the stars at night from the tent pad. This lot is decently spaced away from other campers so you don't feel on top of each other.

This site was ok. The map looked like there was lake access, but there's a cliff. Bring a 6-step ladder and some rope for beach access. There's a peninsula across the lake where a bunch of boaters camp for the night. They don't have a noise restriction, as a note. The bathrooms are due for an update.

My family and I truly enjoyed our time at Van Pugh. Enjoyed the accuracy of information related to finding a shaded sight that was also waterfront. Great breeze during the summer and just great fellow campers. We will definitely return soon.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
