This park is a disgrace. It was one of the nicest parks operated by the core a few years ago. Grass not cut. Limbs and debris everywhere. Playground equipment dirty and unsafe to approach. I ask the attendant if I could bring some equipment to cut the grass and clean up and I was told it was not advisable.

CUT THE GRASS!! We have enjoyed coming to this campground for 7-8 years and it used to be kept to the hilt. Now someone comes and mows just a round or two in some places and leaves all the other grass growing knee high. It is a shame to let the place go to the point that you need a tractor and a bush hog to mow, and then you will need to bale the grass/weeds. Kids don't have a place to pitch baseballs or kick a soccer ball.

The campground is beautiful overlooking the lake and well kept. Most all sites are shaded and level on concrete pads. The one item that is a problem, for 2 reasons, is the locking of the gate with no entry or exit after 10:30pm. First, this is a big deal and the office should remind campers of this at check-in and there should be a big sign that is very obvious during check-in. Yes it is in No.4 font toward the bottom of your confirmation email and yes there is a tiny sign exiting the park stating the gate closes at 10:30. My bad for missing both but very easy to do especially if you have a number of reservations you have booked for the future. We were visiting family and had been to a Braves game and got locked out for the night. Even if we had known we shouldnt have to pass up an activity whereby you cannot arrive after 10:30. Fortunately we had our dog with us and had family to go back to for the night. Secondly, this is a safety hazard. If there was an emergency during the night you could not get out and emergency personnel could not get in without finding or waking camp hosts to go to the gates and unlock the pad locks and chain. Not sure how emergency personnel would even know where they are?? This would of course lose valuable time in an emergency. We are full time RVers and have stayed all over the country and only seen this situation where there was no access code one other time. The CG is in the back of a neighborhood with little or no security issues so do not understand this procedure. Other than that, this is a fantastic COE campground.

Always excellent sites, camp hosts very friendly. Site clean and well manicured. Site overlooking the lake with a huge grassy area around the RV plus close to playground for folks with children, but not on the lake to worry about youngsters falling in the water.
