This is a great campground. The setting is beautiful. The only caveat is the sound from the nearby highway. Our first night we were in site 21 and it was beautiful but the highway was loud. When inside our RV w/ the AC going, it was fine. But sitting outside, it was pretty loud. I had to ask my wife to speak up at one point while we were talking. BUT, if you get a campsite around the point, we were in site 37/38 for the 2nd night, then it is completely different. The highway noise was not noticeable or problematic from that side of the campground. And the site was still beautiful. Note that there are power boats, etc. out on the lake but that was typical. The sites are large and well spaced. Highly recommend, if you get one of the sites around the point from the interstate bridge. The staff at the gatehouse were friendly and helpful. You might want to review the route that the GPS picks for you, to get in and out, BEFORE you start driving. Coming from the west, was pretty easy way in. But then our other ins and outs were to/from the east (to Atlanta) and we got routed a couple of different ways and they were all a little more windy than I expected.

We love this campground and have been there many, many times!! It's small, not a lit of traffic. The attendants are very nice. We will go back!!
