Loved our site 119. Close to the bathhouse and overlooked the lake. A little bit of a steep walk to the water and there was a trail through the woods to the beach that was a hill and a little tough to navigate as well.

Nice campground. Great view of the lake with easy access. But trail to beach area was right behind my campsite #19. People walking back and forth took away some privacy.

I had a great stay at McKinney Campground! Site 119 had an amazing view, especially for sunset, and easy lake access. It is near the swimming beach, but I was there in cool weather so I can't say how busy the beach may get in summer. The site is across from some bathrooms, which were minimal but relatively clean. I tent camped on this occasion, but will definitely come back with my trailer. There are train tracks nearby and I did hear the train several times at night, but that's nothing the campground can control. Otherwise it was quiet and I felt safe. I didn't have any issues at check in. Just be prepared with your license plate numbers. There is hiking, and other recreation nearby at Red Top Mountain state park and in Cartersville.

The entire campground is covered in trees which we really like. Our campsite #119 was beautiful, private, shady and water front. We rented a Tritoon boat for a day at Glade Marina which was only about 5 minutes away and would highly recommend that place.

We have come to this campground for many years. From tent camping to our 30' travel trailer. Beautiful, clean campground. Lake front sites and wildlife. Paved roads, so no dust. Just a wonderful relaxing area and it's only 45 minutes from our home.

We had such a great time at McKinney Campground!We tent-camped there with our two young kids and really enjoyed a spot right beside the beach. We could trek down a bit of a hill to get to the sand and swimming area, very easily get to the playground, and also make a quick trip to the restrooms. While there, we had no problems. Check-in was good. The campsite was litter-free and ready-to-go. Bathrooms were clean. Folks were courteous. Fun was had by all.Overnight, it was plenty quiet and peaceful. As we stepped out of the tent, we saw a heron and then a family of deer. It made our day!Were looking forward to another night of camping there soon!
