The campground is nice and peaceful. The sites are spacious. I would give 5 stars if rving which I usually do but this time I tent camped with 6and 8 yo. The bathhouses are nasty. Black mold on shower tiles that I could swear off with my flip flops. Hair and dirt in corners, too smal shower curtains. Shower handles that fell off. I spoke with a member of the cleaning company thats contracted and she states they are short staffed and are only given paper towels to clean with. Right. She sat in her company truck 10-15 min smoking, parked in front of the bathhouse. Victoria campground, also managed by army corp of engineers, was the same condition 2 weeks ago. If you dont use the bathhouses, the campground is nice. I usually dont post reviews about bathhouses because some are not so great but theses were awful.

Very big campground with 2 beach accesses. Campground was very hilly making the campsites a bit more difficult to back a camper into.

Camp staff was excellent. No issues! Just be aware that site #23 is a little tricky backing into without bottoming out the right rear corner of your camper or the hitch itself. It's just the way the road in front of the site and the driveway into it are formed. Also, you'll likely need leveling blocks for the left wheels on your rig to bring up the left side about 2-3 inches. Again, just the way the driveway into the site is made. Nice site though. Close to the beach, bathrooms/showers, and nice fishing spots. Has nice large trees for putting up hammocks, too. Plenty of shade with the awning out.

Been camping at McKinney for years and love it. Only criticism is camp host. Seems in latter years they are not as pleasant and welcoming. Not all but some. If someone is a volunteer who drives around checking sites their car shd be marked and they shd be wearing a vest and have visible ID.
