The people who work there are really grumpy and mean. People at other campgrounds have told me the same, and said they won’t go back there!

Lots to do here! Hiking, swimming, and giant slide were some of our camping highlights! Such a great place to bring the family and our camp host was very friendly!

We booked site 113, It's right on the lake with beautiful peaceful views of the water. The Campground was clean and the campground was a happy fun place for all. All campsites have ample shade. Be advised that there are a lot of hills if you want to hike or bike.

We would highly recommend visiting both the Booth Western Art Museum and Tellus Science Museum in Cartersville GA approximately 20 minutes from McKinney Campground going North on Interstate 75. The museum is dedicated to the Western United States; the only museum of its kind in the Southeastern United States. The Booth Museum is 80,000 square feet of contemporary art, illustration, movie posters, Civil War art, Indigenous Art and depiction, Presidential portraits and letters, authentic stagecoaches, and an interactive hands-on gallery for children based on a working ranch. A 40,000-square-foot expansion, complete in exhibition space allowing for even more Western artwork to be displayed. Now at 120,000 square feet Booth Museum is the second largest art museum in Georgia, and houses the largest permanent exhibition space for Western art in the country, with examples of early Western artists such as George Caitlin, Albert Bierstadt, Frederic Remington, Charles Russell, and others. However, the core of the collection is built around living masters of traditional Western imagery such as Howard Terpning, Ken Riley, and G. Harvey, as well as more contemporary artists like Ed Mell, Thom Ross, Donna Howell-Sickles, Kim Wiggins and others. The Tellus Science Museum Tellus Science Museum occupies more than 125,000 square feet (the length of one and a half football fields), and features galleries devoted to minerals, fossils, transportation technology, and hands-on science experiences. The 120-seat digital Planetarium hosts a variety of astronomy programs, stargazing events, and family activities and 45-minute shows are shown throughout each day. The Weinman Mineral Gallery showcases one of the largest, most comprehensive collections in the Southeast, with more than 4,000 rocks, gems and minerals on display.

Close to the interstate so attractions like Zoo Atlanta and the Georgia Aquarium are easily accessible. About a half hour away or so.
