Everything would have been perfect, but there was no water at our campground the first day and half we were there. We're used to that though, the same thing has happened the last several years we've camped there, so we were prepared. Other than that, everything was great.

A truly beautiful location with clean and well maintained sites and facilities. The sites are a little hard (crushed gravel). So tent campers should bring something soft to sleep on.

The weather was great! The bathrooms were clean! The camp host always tried to solve any problem that might come up. We are looking forward to being there again next year.

We have been camping at Lake Moomaw for the past 25 years, and love the beautiful, peaceful area, the lake is always fantastic for kayaking and swimming. Biking and hiking are great too. It was wonderful how overgrowth of brush was cleaned out from the lake shore to the campsites it made launching the kayaks so much easier. We have noticed in the last few years that the beach and certain maintenance of the campsites has been neglected. Our water supply was leaking so bad we had to turn it off and on for our RV use because the ground became saturated plus it was a waste of water. The beach area needs to be cleaned up and refurbished, and of course it would have been nice to have a functional bath house there as well. The camp hosts did a good job keeping the bathrooms clean. We noticed in the last few years that the campsites are not checked and raked out if needed in preparation for the next occupant that was done in the past. So now we bring our own rake to spruce up the site before setting up and a trowel to clean up the fire pit. It would be nice to see some nature/ecology campfire talks or even a movie on Friday or Saturday night at the amphitheater geared towards the kids.

Normally a 5 star. This year the experience was not so pleasant. No water or toilets for 3 days as the water pump facility broke down. Took them that long to fix it. No big deal... I brought water with me and had a portable toilet. What ruined it for me was the camper who ran his 2 cycle jet ski ALL DAY LONG every day for 6 days right next to the shore by all the other campers who were equally annoyed. This usually is a quiet and peaceful place. Otherwise, the lake and mountains are awesome as usual.
