Great camp site very large and level and next to bathhouse. Cons are that there is only one bathhouse with four showers for 40 camp sites and the bathhouse at the lake had no showers. With the temperatures in the 90's we would have liked and gladly paid for electrical hookup to power our AC at night. Lake was warm and clean with sand beach and sand swimming area.

the campsite is great. Each of the individual sites are given plenty of room to move around whether you have tents or RV/trailer/van, Though you are in the woods, and you are in the woods, the sites are clear and clean. Plenty of vegetation around your site to give you privacy. The bathrooms are kept VERY clean considering they are not new and nature all around. The hosts are attentive if you need them and in the background if you don't. Everyone was very respectful of noise levels. I will be staying here again the next time I pass through Virginia.

This was a great choice for a peaceful and relaxing camping trip. Flush toilets, nice showers, friendly camp hosts, checked on us daily, answered questions we had and was low keyed, but visible. We were the only tent camper in the upper section, site 40B. Near the toilet, you could hear the creek, made for great sleeping, a grassy area next to our site and deer feeding thru every morning. Bring bug spray, we used 2 Thermocell's to keep them off of us around the camp, and when the time comes to start a lantern, moving it back some helps keep the bugs back near the light. Bring a sleeping pad, your in gravel, keep the door zipped tight to keep the bugs and occasional rodent/snake out (saw 2) and have a great time. Bring a saw to cut some wood for a fire, you should not bring wood from home, could get you a ticket for bringing an unknown bug into the national forest. The deer were everywhere and so were the ticks. We will be back, great spot!

First time staying here. The host was extremely friendly and helpful. Camp sites are spread out well. Every site has a great view of the river leading down to the lake. Very enjoyable, will definitely camp here again! Bathrooms and bathhouse is very clean both men and womens. Good showers

We have been going to this lovely little campground for many years. It is one of the few places that is good for tent camping. The lake is a great source of amusement for our grandchildren because of the prevalence of salamanders. We appreciate the addition of the rope that helps swimmers stay in the shallow area.Cave Mountain Lake campground has very nice facilities and provides basic, NON electronic fun for all ages - PLEASE keep it that way! A great place to relax and connect with nature and family.

A beautiful site with a creek. Well maintained, bathhouses are clean and functional. Only downside which is uncontrollable was that there was a lot of ticks.

Cave Mountain Lake is a perfect family campgroundclean, well-maintained, and peaceful. The sites are spacious with great privacy thanks to the trees. Staff were friendly, and rules were clear and easy to follow. The beach was a hit with our kids (lots of salamanders!), and they loved the fishing spots too. Its close to great hikes like Devils Marbleyard, Apple Orchard Falls, and Natural Bridge. Dont miss Great Valley Farm Brewery nearby. We had everything we needed for a great weekendcant wait to come back!

A very green and calm camping experience here, especially if near one of the tent sites by the stream.

Camp host was great. CCC built sites are beautiful. Sites are roomy and not too close together. Very nice experience!

This place was beautifully tucked away into the national forest. Sites were clean and staff super friendly. The bath house was okay along with the bathrooms which were worn down pretty good but they were clean and I understand funding issues. Overall a great place to stay.

Loved the quiet, secluded feeling of this campground. Lots of trees, shade, and birds. This site is next to the bathhouse, which was convenient, but also very occasionally meant sewer smells wafted over in the heat. The showers were appreciated and clean, but could use upgrades. Overall, great value for the price.

Absolutely loved this campground. We stayed at site 40 and had the back corner of the campground all to ourselves. Our spot was spacious and fit why SUV, 10' by 13' tent and our 10' by 10' canopy. Plenty of room. I loved the grassy field in between our site and the walk-in tent sites. Lots of shades and sun so I was able to use my solar panels. There was a single stall restroom (one for men and one for women) close by our site and a bath house with toilets and 4 unisex showers in the center of the campground. NO SIGNAL! We had to travel about 15 minutes to the bottom of the mountain before getting any signal which was not a big deal for me. I downloaded movies and music and actually enjoyed unplugging. I would definitely stay here again. Really looking forward to our next trip!

Enjoyed our stay. Location of site was very good.The Wildcat hiking trail was quite strenuous as it was 1.5 to two miles up the mountain for the first part. Had very limited cell service, if any at all.

We just found this gem looking for a place to stay while we were traveling to get home. One of the cleanest campgrounds. Beautiful views. No 5g , but who cares. Good water. Nice showers. Host and Rangers very nice. We will be back.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
