Cave Mountain Lake Family Camp is located in the Glenwood and Pedlar Ranger Districts, George Washington and Jefferson National Forest (54 min northwest of Lynchburg, VA) with an elevation of 1,237 feet. There are a total of 27 campsites. The campground is normally open from the beginning of April to the end of October. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 18 and 100 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Fees range from $20.00 to $40.00. Some amenities include shower, dump station, swimming, restroom, flush toilets. Activities include fishing, hiking trails.

The amenities on site are not all that nice. The shower was the part that was the worst. The floor drain didnt drain and it was a cold shower. Wouldnt be bad in the summer time but not on a cold rainy day. The campground is beautiful, and there are many things to do nearby. Nice place to stay, just wish the amenities were nicer.

No wifi/cell service which is fine. Clean spacious sites with nice campfire area. Restrooms and showers were nice and warm. Electric in bathroom to dry hair if needed staff very friendly. Camping beside the creek was relaxing

Great location to visit Natural Bridge and Devils Marbleyard. Nice sites and host was excellent in keeping bathhouse cleaned and stocked.

Being from Kansas and new to the camping world my wife and I have been skeptical about camping grounds. We absolutely loved our time at Cave Mountain Lake. We were very impressed with the bathrooms and facilities. We stayed at lot 35 which seems to be the furthest away from all other sites and we could not have picked a better space. Unfortunately were learning that its best to reserve a head of time so we couldnt stay longer than a few days since thats all the availability they had but we plan to go back. Les (one of the campground volunteers) was very nice and informative. Highly recommend this place especially if youre new to this.

Very nice little campground. With campsites right along the creek. Love the fact that you can swim in the lake and paddle board. Fishing is good when its stocked. Then the hot water at the bathhouse is constant. Lol the only reason why its getting four stars is they just have one bathhouse for the camp. And the lake is a little bit of a walk from the campsite.

We love this place! So peaceful and quiet! And the camp hosts are super nice. Only objection we have is why they don't install a bathroom on the side of Sites 3-16. It's a long walk to get around to the one bathroom.

Campsite was well prepared, leaves blown off well on and around pad area. Host were out and about throughout the day had anything come up that needed assistance. Nature trail and spillway access trail well maintained. Kids had lots of fun and want to come back next year.

Great campground. Nice access to a creek. Fun for the kids. Clean bathrooms, hot showers. Only downside was there was no soap in the bathrooms. Would definitely return.

This was a beautiful camp. The sites are not too close together, which gives a sense of privacy, especially with the trees between sites. We enjoyed going on two of the beautiful hiking trails around the camp. The bathrooms and showers were very, very clean so much appreciated!

We reserve this camping site in the last minute. My family were wanting to have an escape from daily city smoke (Richmond) and it was so perfect! Were not expecting to have a such experience! We had a midnight rain wich make it more enjoyable . Peaceful, clean, organized place and all the people stay were so respectful to each others. We all love it!

We camped with 3 families side by side and had an absolute blast! The bear boxes were amazing and so nice to have a place to store all of our food and supplies. Bathrooms were clean and I loved the individual shower rooms. We will be back.

Nice campground with amenities close by. Campsites are kept clean upon arrival. Checkout time could be extended by an hour or so would help.

Lovely camping spot. Trees, shade, beautiful stonework and flat packed sandy soil. Lots of nice people nearby felt very safe. Not super quiet with lots of dogs. But we enjoyed watching other people enjoy the campground. Nice clean bathrooms. (Bring your own soap)We hiked and swam in the little lake.

Our camp host was incredibly helpful. Our site was clean and right on the stream. Bathrooms were neat and tidy. The lake was a nice break from the heat and the area around it was well maintained.
