Be prepared for tons of other people fishing the river that borders this campsite. Plus even though this is a huge single hunt campsite do not try to site your guns in or target practice as it is somehow considered WMA managed land and we got a $360 ticket for shooting at a hunt camp. I have been a couple of times now and I always have to pick up trash even though there is receptacles. I wont go back.

The campsite was wonderful. It was private and relatively clean. It had some storm damage which cut down on places to camp but we managed. The only problem we had was the lock to get in was so old and worn it made it difficult to unlock.

Wonderful area to bring a group as the site is flat and spacious. We had a 27' travel trailer, several vehicles, and 4 tents. Never seemed cramped at all. Do make sure you keep the gate closed as we had people come "visit" us during the day unexpectedly. The boys caught some trout on the Chauga River adjacent to the camp. The pit toilet was fairly clean and did not smell as others might have suggested. Trash was collected by USFS staff from the two receptacles during the week, but they do not come by on weekends. Two things about this site: I had my youngest pick up trash as there seemed to be bits and pieces all over, nothing egregious, but noticeable. Most important critical point about the site, for a group site why is there not a single picnic table? We have rented this site for later in the year and look forward to coming back during the warmer months.

Great spot, easy access to fishing. Extra firewood stacked neatly. Clean outhouse. The river is beautiful!

Nice place, but the one pit toilet was completely overrun and obviously hadnt been cleaned out all summer. The entire area smelled like human feces and urine. We ended up not even staying one night out of your two night reservation because of this.

We have stayed here every year for several years with our children and grandchildren. Everyone loves this campground. It is private and
always clean, the only drawback is the lack of fresh water.

We enjoy how beautiful the spot is and how private the spot is. We suggest bringing fishing gear and swimming gear because the river is always refreshing.
