Here’s everything:
A group of friends and I stayed at Swan Lake Campground for 4 nights/5 days. Before booking this campsite, I wish I would have known these pros and cons.
Pros:
? Clean campsite
? Firewood available on site ($6 per bundle)
? Approx. 1 hour from Glacier NP
? Beautiful lake nearby
? Phone service available 1 mile up the road
Cons:
? No showers on site. I knew this from the camp information, BUT I figured there would be options in a nearby town. There is not. Showers are available at the Swan lake Resort but for $10 per person. I wish there was a more economical option.
? No sinks to wash hands or dishes. Not ideal for tent camping. When asked where we should wash dishes, camp host said to throw the water out in the woods.
? The vault toilets STINK. I know this isn’t something that can be helped at a campground like this, but it needed to be mentioned haha.
? The sites are not on the water, but rather across the highway. It is advertised as having kayak/canoe rentals available but the kiosk was not staffed and there was hardly anybody on the lake. Some people who towed boats their own in were there.
Overall: while we did have a fun time camping, this is not a campground I would recommend for tents. This is much more set up for RV or trailers. There were no other tents in the area aside from ours while we were there. There were, however, plenty of RVs. I do not think this should be advertised for tent camping as there are little to no amenities. This is not a campground for people who like a laid back camping trip.
For some reason one or more class a or c RVs ran their generators frequently. No need for ac so what's the deal.
