Quiet, peaceful, cool. Nice break from 108 in southern utah!

Pleasant small campground. Most spots are not private. Beautiful setting! Many trees in the area and lots of flowers and green plants. Clear water lake. Very nice location! Note: I reserved #7 on the online map showing it to be right on the lake and straight-in easy backing. But when I got there #7 was two spaces to the right and up the hill to the east. It turned out to be an excellent site though, private, trees, spacious; however, it was difficult to get my 33ft fifth wheel in there because of the sharp bend and hill. But I did it. I would want that site again though.Recreation.gov will update the campsites numbers eventually hopefully, but when I was there it was two spaces to the right up the hill from the open one I expected that unobstrucually overlooks the lake. The highway to the campgrounds is not busy and eventually turns into a dirt road so the road is not busy. I spent a lot of time riding my bike on it. Great view of the lake and the trees and meadows. Many of things to do nearby including lava fields, ponds and lakes, lava tube caves, waterfall trail, small towns, and Cedar Breaks National Monument. Many sites are located close to the lake. The other small portion of the campground is directly across the road and is being revamped currently to allow large RVs to camp there. The numbering system on the recreation.gov website is not correct. Nor was it correct over a year ago. Certainly they could have fixed it by now. So to restate--we reserved site number 7 online showing it to be right next to the lake. (Actually it is physically #5.) But when we got there sitr number 7 was two places away further up the hill from where we expected to be. Pit toilet restrooms were installed while we were there June 24 to June 28, 2024.

John was very helpful in directing us to our sites (the numbering had changed).
New campsites were very nice (concrete pad, picnic table, fire pit, etc.)
Disappointed there was no water or restroom facilities available.
Would be nice to have a campground host on site to assist with the following:
No firewood was available to purchase.
Dogs running all over the campground with no leashes. They came into our site several times where our dogs were either tied or in a kennel.
There is no telling the disposition of large running dogs and our dogs were agitated from it.
Generators running all night.
We have stayed at Panguitch Campground three times this year and those were very pleasant experiences.....this one not so much.

This campground is nice, but lots of partying going on. Only a couple of sites have shade. The adjacent road is close and very busy. The camp hosts didn't enforce the 8 people max/site rule. If it was a little quieter, this place would be amazing.
