It would be extremely helpful if there were a sign at the entrance to site 1 and 2 that noted which sites were accessible and that said no outlet. We witnessed two groups with trailers have extreme difficulty backing out on the road. Also, there were many people just looking at the site. Creates a lot more dust with all the autos turning around. We do love the Metolius! Staying at Candle Creek next week!

Many good walks, quiet times, beautiful birds including a Bald Eagle.

Excellent camp site, even without drinking water. The camp host, Matthew, was extremely helpful and attentive, and takes good care of the site.

This campground is very beautifully located along the Metolius River. Hiking along the River is easily accessible. Although it is a dry campground, there is a pit-toilet. Also, the campfire in the fire pit was awesome.

I arrived mid day on 2nd day of reservation to find a family in my reserved site. The reserved card was blank. The lady told me the official making rounds told them site was available, so they moved their stuff over. I reported this to the official ( not a camp host) & he said they were behind due to staffing. Fortunately the campers were gracious after seeing my reservation notice and left. Unnecessary confusion, and had to stand around in the heat waiting to get into the site. Otherwise Allen Springs was good

Love Allen Springs campground. Some sites are very large. Many are right on the edge of the beautiful Metolius River. Love the walking trails right along the river. The fish hatchery is 1 mile away. The quaint town of Camp Sherman has a general store with tables outside to have your lunch, a friend small church, a wonderful bike path, and more walking trails up and down the river. Our favorite area in Oregon - quiet and peaceful!
