Continued from previous review from another site. After speaking with the other campers around us and getting the same response about the hosts aggressiveness, it made me feel less targeted. One lady said her kids were at the table playing go fish when he yelled at them. In talking to my neighbors it sounds as though the camp host had been on the job for 2 months, said he hadn't gotten any sleep and that he had family in town and was supposed to be off duty that weekend and didn't want to get woken up or didn't want to have to call Shawna. One camper mentioned maybe if he would lay off the drugs he could sleep. We went about our day as normal on Saturday and ended up walking through the loop. We went by the camp host and as we did the host asked us how our stay was. My friend actually stopped to talk to him about his approach in our camp the prior night, he went up to him to talk to him in hushed tones trying not to let the neighbors hear and as soon as it was brought up the host was yelling and aggressive again. Of course this lead my friend to get defensive. I tried to talk to a lady that was also there, she was in an actual shirt that was for the host/campground. I am assuming this is Shawna. She looked as though she couldn't interrupt in what the man was doing and actually ignored me and walked away. The host (male) went on to threaten us, telling us to get the f out of the campground and pack our things. He threatened to call the ranger, which I had hoped he would have. We thought about calling them ourselves but didn't. We walked away from the situation hoping the ranger would show up. My kids had drove by the host hours later and told us he was drinking with his neighbors. This made me even more worried about retaliation on his part. We went to bed at ten that night and didn't see a ranger or the host. I did hear partying until I fell asleep around midnight. Great campground but the trip ended on a bad note due to what appeared to be a drunken/drugged host.

Such a wonderful camping experience. With the exception that I paddled my new kayak across the lake to the beach near the Simax campground. While taking a swim at the beach, my kayak was abducted. Since no one was on the beach, I assume someone came down from the day use area and ran off with it. My Water bottle and yoga mat were left behind and traces of my belongings… My sunglasses, I found in the sand as well as a trail of marks in sand from the kayak having been dragged up the hill. I know that many people park their kayaks overnight on the beach. There are no guarantees it is safe. 🛶☹️
