Great horse camp. Most sites are level, private and pretty easy to back into. There are lots of trails that are accessible right from camp and even more if you are willing to haul out. All the trails were clear and accessible when I was there in Sept. 2021. Kim McCarrel books are really beneficial to have on hand to navigate trails. HINT: Make copies ahead of time to carry in your saddle bag.. There are a lot of long loop trails here. Lot of the trails have lava rock or pass by and thru lava outcrops. My horses are barefoot so I used boots. Definitely hoof protection is needed on most trails. The camp host is friendly and helpful with info on the trails and facilities. There is potable water but only one hand pump spigot. Be prepared to haul water! Two pit toilets and several garbage dumpsters throughout the campground. One manure dump area that is at the very beginning of the campground so it can be a haul if you're at the other end. The good thing is everything is pretty level in camp so you won't have to haul a heavy cart uphill.

Great horse camp! Corrals are pipe (not older wood corrals with chain gates as the pictures show). There is water from a hand pumped spigot close to the camp host site. Be prepared to haul water! 2 pit toilets and several garbage dumpsters throughout campground. Most sites are level, private and easy to back into (unless you have LQ). Trails are abundant, accessible from campground and there are several long loops. HINT; bring Kim Mccarrel's book and make copies to carry in your saddle bag to help with navigation. More Trails and trailheads with in reasonable distance if your willing to haul out. Campground host is friendly and helpful. Will definitely return.
