Even though there was no power due to hurricane Helene it was a beautiful campground with spacious sites. Enjoyed the view of the lake and taking the path along it.

Very nice spot! Water access is amazing. Each site is mostly private. Some more so than others. Only complaint is that the noise from other sites carried over quite a bit. One had their dogs barking insensately the first night and the following morning at 7:30a.was surprised the campground tolerated this. It was pretty inconsiderate for both other campers as well as the poor dogs who were obviously anxious from being left there unattended during these barking periods. Also the loud music from another site near by traveled throughout the loop and pretty annoying to be in nature and having to hear all their music playing til 11pm. Otherwise it was super nice though and well try it again hopefully they are better about the noise issues however.

It was pretty, I swam a lot and had a good time. The only problem was that some of the other people there were very LOUD and inconsiderate. Somebody leaving their poor dog alone on their site, then going out for dinner, then as night falls the poor dog is going NUTS and whining and barking because it's scared and doesn't know where its people are... and then of course, the people return like 15 minutes before quiet hours so they don't get busted. And some people played music way too loud. On one side, the people were playing mariachi music for HOURS, and on the other side, the people were playing every tired, played-out song from the 1990's for hours also... I think the only one they didn't play was Heart Shaped Box, by Nirvana. There needs to be more enforcement of the noise policy, or something banning playing music by electronic means, or something. If someone wants to drown out the sounds of nature with all that racket, I don't know why they don't just stay home.

Great place to camp, my only complaint is the showers, not enough shower stalls for the number of campers, and the stalls are designed weird that its very hard to not get water splashing on your dry closes do to the open shower door design, also there was virtually no hot water, otherwise loved it.

Zilpo was an excellent campground surrounded by dense woods and a serene shoreline. Tent lots contain a paved drive, gravel bed, fire pit and drying pole. My only complaint was that beach access was limited...was closed at 1130 AM for "staff meeting" and promptly closes at 8 PM.

We originally were going to stay at Twin Knobs Campbrougnd, but after some research, we decided to switch the reservation to Zilpo. Having recently moved to Kentucky from California was so happy to get to camp in another season besides summer. All the spots in the H Loop seemed like they would be great for a visit, but after walking around the whole section, we found H 26. It was a double spot with easy access to the lake and set up a beach fire for the night. The only issue was the bathroom nearest to us was shut down, but it really wasn't that much farther. Amazing seeing the Milky Way one evening.

This is a beautiful area with easy access to the lake at various points, but it's difficult to actually know where you're going. We had a lot of difficulties with maps - the campground map did not match the reservation site online, and none of the hiking trails were accurately represented on the map. The trails were actually quite difficult to find. However, the lake was pretty and there were several access points. The campground was quiet and well kept (although one of the bathhouses was surprisingly closed in our loop). There were a lot of trees that provided privacy between sites.
