Great location, could use an occasional deep cleaning. Could use some paint and maint.

Very comfortable cabin, beautiful spot, and we had an awesome time. A group of 3 mule deer came down to investigate on our second evening there and we were joined by a very active yellow warbler in the mornings. This was our third trip to West Bridger Cabin and it has never disappointed.

Really a beautiful place! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin during our cross-country camping trip. We hope we can return some day.

Our stay at the cabin was so refreshing - we didn't see a soul the whole time we there. Heard/saw an occasional car go by. We were there in early June - it was VERY green and the birdlife was amazing. The trail from the cabin is not well marked.The ones further up the road were better marked, but very dry & dusty. The cabin itself is very well stocked - despite what some of the reviews said - we did NOT need to bring pots and pans. Plenty of games to entertain.

Loved the location, views, and trail! Wish surfaces in the cabin were more cleanable. Loved the fridge, oven, and couple lamps to make it more comfy in there. Appreciated the games people have previously left in the cabin.

Great stay!! Lots of amenities left from previous guests however we were well packed. One thing though is the bees are TERRIBLE. My father in law, who was with us on our trip, is allergic and had to be to extra cautious because there were so many around.

Please note that the directions say the driveway to the cabin is located on the right. The driveway and cabin are on the left hand side of the road, note the right. I copied and pasted the directions below with the correction.
From Big Timber, Montana, travel 14 miles east on Interstate Highway 90 to exit 384 (Bridger Creek). From the stop sign, travel south for 8.2 miles to the junction of Main
Bridger with West Bridger Creek Road. Turn right and continue on West Bridger Road for 2.2 miles to the junction of West Bridger with Derby Gulch. Stay right on
West Bridger Road for 0.7 miles. Look for driveway ON THE LEFT with a gate about 50 yards down road. There is a small oak sign on the left of this road identifying the cabin.
The total driveway length to the cabin is approximately 0.2
miles.

You cancelled my stay at Bridger cabin because of the bridge issue. I called for a refund and got a voicemail that Julia would contact me about it and issue me a refund. I've been waiting since June 1st

Great place, I've been there many times. New stove warms well, electric range for cooking and lights, so nice! The price hike to $85 per night was a shock, though, I think it's too high.

With the cabin having electric, it was well stocked for cooking. Even a Mr. Coffee. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because it could use a thorough cleaning. But we look forward to our next stay.

It's an OK place but we got it when the rate was $25 per night. We do not feel this place is worth the new $75 night even with electricity and an electric stove/oven. I am really surprised to see it rented as much as it is. We think a fair price would be $45 a night in which it would get 4 stars.
A little scenery and just a couple of trails. If this is the closet Forest Service getaway or you have stayed here before and it means something to you by all means stay. For everybody else there are better other locations if you are visiting Montana, Idaho or Wyoming.
For the new rate of $75 a night a fridge should be supplied. Also the building is not being maintained. Needs painting.
For Verizon users there is no signal at the cabin but about 8 miles before you get there you do have a couple of bars at 4G.
Not very much cookware.
No oven mitt.
There is no water and there is a sink but they have covered it over with a board. It appears you used to be able to use it and it emptied to a bucket that had to be emptied by hand but now you can't even do that.
Dirty old toaster and dirty coffee maker. Bring your own stuff.
Has 4 twin beds.
Wood stove.
Old school pit toilet that is not ADA.
Good size porch.
Has fire pit and picnic table.
Locked gate for privacy.

Beautiful location next to very small but lush & pretty West Bridger Creek. Rustic accommodations for those who don't mind roughing it . . . kind of like camping but with a roof and four walls, electricity, and an adjacent old-time outhouse. The cabin was very convenient for our day fishing trips to the Stillwater and Rosebud Creeks, as well as the small country towns of Absarokee, Big Timber, and Nye. We were hoping to have dinner at the famous Grizzly Restaurant in nearby Roscoe, but it is only open Thursday-Saturday. And we were hoping to spot an actual grizzly on our drives to and from the cabin, but instead saw tons of deer. Although the cabin was generally in good shape, it could use a little TLC from the Forest Service in terms of a good deep-cleaning and minor cosmetic repairs.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to visit the Bridger cabin due to an emergency stay in a Billings hospital, June 6 - 11th. Real disappointed I wasn't able to make it. Maybe next year?

We had a great time at the West Bridger cabin! The hike up to the ridge near the cabin was beautiful - great views of the Crazy mountains. As others have said, the wood stove doesn’t work great. It took a long time to warm up and never got SUPER hot like some of the other cabins get. Overall a great experience.

This cabin is afforded an electric range, clean and functional. The wood stove is undersized so you will have to keep it fed/burning through the night if possible to keep heat in the cabin. If possible, I would recommend the FS lowers the exhaust venting to reduce the capillary/stack effect which sucks more heat out, the more the wind blows which is often. Resizing to a larger wood burner that has a working damper and larger capacity would be the best fix. Wood shed was fully stocked and the stars were out in full glory. In case of emergency I could get 1-2 bars of service on Verizon by hiking .75-1 mile up the Derby Mountain TH. Roughly a few hundred yards past the stock tank and near a stand of trees I was able to get coverage...just saying. The road entrance to the cabin is abrupt (hard left) and the gate was not secured to the post (be careful not to smoosh hands/feet/fingers). Interior has a few tables, several sturdy chairs and 4 single bed frames w/mattresses that were surprising comfortable. Bring a table cloth, cooking equipment/utensils, good foods and you'll be set. All in all a great spot with the luxury of electricity and access roads that were well maintained. There was no snow at the time of our trip so I could see a few turns/climbs/drops that when icy would be challenging for the novice BC driver. We could hear some near by dogs so your not as remote as some cabins, but still back in da woods.
