I love this cabin. Went there at the end of winter and had a great time. Beautiful little creek passing by the cabin and incredible mountain view. The cabin is equipped with four beds and offers enough space for an additional person to sleep on the floor. It's great that cabins like this one exist and are available to the public.

Lovely cabin in excellent condition. Clean, fully stocked with newspaper, kindling, chopped fire wood. Looking forward to going back again soon.

A perfect getaway for my girlfriend and I. Cabin was clean and very well maintained (thanks USFS, and fellow campers!!). Some pots and pans to use, if needed. Even if you don't use the Little Hellroaring Trail system that's close by, there's lots of opportunity to wander through the woods. As of our time there, there's plenty of wood. But a heads up- there's a small ax to use that's great but the maul that's there is DULL- if (and that's a fairly big if) you're able to split logs with it, it's purely through blunt force trauma to the log, LOL. It just needs a little TLC on a grinding wheel. Having said that- we managed just fine. Enjoy your time at this AMAZING spot, and we'll be back for sure!

We love this cabin - it's very pretty, clean and the cabin warms up nicely. We could ski all the way in last week with this new snow. Bring a bucket so that you can get water out of the creek from the little bridge. The sides of the creek have snow and ice all the way to the water.

Very well cared for, clean, and warms up quickly. Thanks for the last occupant leaving wood by the stove for when we first got there - complete with kindling. So appreciated after a sub-zero ski in. Beautiful!

Lovely cabin! Enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of the creek. Really appreciated the solitude with the family. Some notes for people coming up: coffee percolator is missing it's top; need D batteries for the lantern (or propane and little nets for Coleman light), bring silverware, bowls and cups, and a stove to heat things over using the wood burning stove.

Cabin was super clean, lots of pots and pans, one bunk bed in main area and a loft with a queen bed. We didnt realize there was a loft so that was a nice surprise! We hiked in during February and the cabin was easy enough to warm up with the fire and we had a great time. I always love staying at forest service cabins and this one did not disappoint. The stream right next to it was an added bonus as well.

Neat location, right on the creek. The road was still closed, so we had to hike in (end of April). The hike in was nice. There was still some snow drifts. You just walk on the paved road up to the cabin (about 4 miles with around 550 ft elevation gain). The cabin was a little smaller than expected. There is one bunk (with 2 twin/full beds) in the main area. We did not use the loft.

A wonderful little cabin near a stunning creek with 360 mountain views. The trek in is about 4 miles. Touring or snowshoeing are highly advised in the winter. Stocked with wood. Has pots and pans. Bring some yummy food to cook on word burning stone and enjoy some time removed from the digital world with good company!! :)

The Spanish creek cabin is a very special place. It is peaceful and so unique in its location. Whenever I have come upon the cabin, previous campers have all kept their end of the bargain and cleaned and maintained its interior and exterior. Kudos to the Forest Service for its part in maintaining and providing such a beautiful place for the public. Thank you!

We started out from the lower gate in the early afternoon and it was very dark by the time we reached the trailhead parking lot. The road was blown over with snow and we almost lost hope. We started to think about how to survive the night outside! Luckily I had one bar of service at the trailhead gate and called a friend who encouraged us. We had a lovely time after this moment of peril. Next year we will book more nights!

We loved it! We were pleasantly surprised to find some cooking utensils there. Suggest bringing a gas stove for cooking if weather is not cold. We had to heat the cabin up to an uncomfortable heat in order to cook our breakfast on the wood stove.
