During my Montana visit I stayed in three cabins throughout the Recreation.gov chain. Meyers was the best. If you want a hot shower, full kitchen facilities, comfortable living room, amazing mattresses and a beautiful outdoor space this is the spot. The fishing on the Stillwater was bountiful. Thanks and lets protect our greatest resource our national forests and parks.

Anytime our daughter is there it's always an excellent time. The cabin was clean and ready to go. It's nice to come back from a cold day of hunting to an old warm farmhouse!! Love it there!!

This cabin is a delight. We were here this time in beautiful Montana fall. Electricity, heat, running water, stove, refrigerator in a Forest Service cabin! Amazing! The pots, pans, dishes and tableware were nice to have, since we didn't bring a lot ourselves. The cabin was very clean. Beautiful country at the doorstep for hiking.

A snow shovel on the porch would be helpful. The cabin needs maintenance. Either provide toilet paper or tell renters that they need to bring their own.

We had a great two days exploring the mountains and rivers near the cabin. Particularly enjoyed the peace and quiet around the place. Only one other person drove down the Forest Service lane while we were there. Fished the Stillwater, hiked up Meyers Creek trail, watched an impromptu rodeo at the ranch next door, experienced an amazing thunder and lightning display one night. Fabulous chokecherries up the Meyers Creek Trail, as well as around the cabin.

We loved the location. Newer living room furniture, having electricity for cooking, and hot showers were so nice.

Almost all of the photos on the website are out of date. The listing says it’ll sleep 6 but they’ve removed the bunk bed and made it just a single, so actually now sleeps 5. The listing also says the water is potable but throughout the cabin are USFS signs saying the water must be boiled, so we were really, really disappointed. The small campfire ring is well behind the house - lots of scrap wood near adjacent buildings from fence removal project made for ample firewood. We were happily surprised to see a coffeemaker and filters!

We were not the only folks staying at the Work Center. It’s possible you’ll have others camping in their trailers adjacent to the cabin and sharing the livestock corrals.

Cleaning supplies under sink included ample Swiffer cleaning cartridges and chemicals for cleaning surfaces. Screens on the windows have been removed so fresh air at night might include a few insects.

We didn’t pay the new $90 fee per night and not quite sure this place is worth the extra $$$. Hope the USFS uses the extra funds to make repairs. Notes left in the cabin indicate most of the nice features inside have been donated by guests.

Have been coming here for 20 years. In the beginning it was great...a house in the mountains. It’s great for location. It is completely run down now. The nice screened in porch is ripped out, it’s not secure, there is no fence anymore. I went with my husband and didn’t feel secure. We had a few experiences that made us question if the place was haunted. Judge for yourself but only go if you feel very ok with an old place.

Great Cabin good amount of space !! updated beds and couch was a pleasant surprise ! hunting opportunities right from the cabin ....if you go up the road you’ll need great ground clearance as the road is pretty muddy

A trip here is a rustic historical pleasure for those who wish to avoid crowds and get a taste of what a true Montana experience is like. Not for people who require all the over amenities

Very much liked the "cabin" - it is a house, really. Was a bit grubby but an afternoon's elbow grease took care of that, then upon leaving we scrubbed the heck out of it. Oddly, this felt good. Weather was nice. Fishing in the area was ----eeh--lots of high water. Stillwater canyon was a-mazing. Burgers and beer at Nye were quite good. Store at Nye was handy. Unexpected chock-a-block river cabins along every local stream. Didn't hike but there were good looking trails about, one just outside the cabin. Nice place. Next person should fix some of the screens.
