Been to this campground many times. Small, quiet. Hosts are helpful.

We really enjoyed this COE. The hosts were great! Water and electric on site. Dump station. Gates are locked at night. Site was very level. The only drawback to this campground is that the road is gravel. The road leading down to the water was blocked off because the ACOE was practicing ribbon bridge building. We watched as helicopters brought in supplies. We drove a little bit down the road to Buffomville Lake to be near the water, beach and picnic area. The biologists were counting fish species while we were there. It was a very cool experience to watch activity at both locations

Another COE campground we stayed at on our journey to Acadia NP. Having hot shower is definitely a bonus in addition to E/W hookup at the site.

we have been going here for seven years and we always plan our family reunion. We can count one very friendly hostess and clean bathrooms and showers. We do recommend that they take care of some of the dead trees that are at the sites for when you have rain or high winds you worry about them falling down. We have experienced and seen several trees that have come down. Definitely will be booking for 2024 family trips

Very nice small campground, shady level spots. Although it is close to a lake, there was no swimming due to water quality. If this is improved, this would become a favorite spot. Although boating was allowed, we did not feel comfortable doing so. Nice trails around the area, and frisbee golf, and basketball courts. Park employees/volunteers were very nice, bathrooms clean, showers hot.

Amazing camping area and the people who ran were extremely helpful and made stay pleasant experience. I would highly recommend this campground to others who enjoy privacy and nature.

Quiet campground. Gate closed so access at night limited.
host campers here are the best. when a severe thunderstorm was due to arrive unexpectedly, they came around and warned all the campers. facilities are kept very clean.
This a beautiful, small camping area. The hosts were very helpful. I enjoyed the hiking trails, the well priced firewood and, of course, the peace and quiet. The bathroom was clean, well ventilated and modern. The shower was free and had ample hot water. My only reservation is that there is no swimming in the lake now. Had I brought my kayak, I could have used that in the lake. I found a great Thai restaurant in Putnam. And good ice cream in Thompson. I did not visit the state park where I might have gone swimming. Other than that, this is the quiet corner of CT. It is very relaxing.
We absolutely love this little campground. We like the rustic feel and quietness of some state campgrounds, but at this stage of life want some amenities. Therefore, we use the sites with hookups. There if a 10 min drive to a state park for swimming. All in all, a perfect slice of heaven.
