The camping area was great! Plenty of flat space for tents and within walking distance of our cars. The park itself was well-kept and the rangers friendly. The trees and wildlife were more impressive than I imagined.

The visitor center staff are very helpful — be sure to check in there!

Wish that fire Wood was more available. Or made known that fire wood for a fire would be hard to come by.
Site was good and nice to step away from even our cars for awhile.

My husband and I were very pleased with the Longleaf campgrounds. The outhouse is not a far walk from our spot. The camping spots and the trails between the parking lot to the sites were clean of trash, well marked, and grass was kept. The campground was quiet and other campers were respectful. I personally would have loved closer access to running water and even a shower, but we were well aware that both were unavailable. Overall great experience!

The Longleaf campground is the best camp site at a National Park I've visited thanks to the plentiful tree cover and shade, and pine needles that made for a cushioned ground to sleep on. I prefer flush toilets, but the facilities were well maintained, and there are flush toilets at the Visitor's Center. Visiting in the spring meant no mosquitoes.
We rented a canoe for $40 at 905 Gervais St. in Columbia. They tied it to the top of our car with foam cushions (our car doesn't have a rack) and we drove 40 minutes back to Congaree and canoed upstream from the Cedar Creek canoe launch. It took us about 3 and half hours to canoe a bit over two miles upstream and then return.
Most trails were flooded when we were there, but we did enjoy the boardwalks.

Nice little campground just down the road from the main boardwalk. You have to walk to all the sites, so RV’s are a no-go, but the actual sites are awesome. Great experience!

The park is small but interesting. The camping is cheap and adequate. The Boardwalk is amazing.

I was hoping to sleep in my car so I wouldn't have had to set up ,my tent. Oh well. Water would have been nice.
