It was very busy the day I arrived, but this did not phase the staff. They were very helpful at getting me started on some hiking. Excellent well marked trails, provided me with a very good map. Thank you. Lots of good options for hiking and beauty around each bend. I would go back and plan to spend more time exploring.
Camping at Congaree is great, sites are thoughtfully set into the woods. Bathrooms are at the parking lot. Obtaining h20 is a bit awkward, being back at the visitor center, but doable with some pre-planning. Thank you for all you do to preserve such a lovely area of the south east.

Well maintained boardwalks provide an elevated and accessible adventure through the Tupelo and Cypress forest/swamp. We also took a guided kayaking tour down Cedar Creek with Carolina Outdoor Adventures which was a real treat.
Campsites were clean with firewood nearby. We did see fox squirrels and river snakes as well as magnificent birds. My son caught a crappy, which we roasted and enjoyed and our dog enjoyed the trails and made a few well behaved canine buddies:)

Nice, quiet campground. Do wish there were carts you could use to help bring your stuff to the campsites, as you can’t drive in and it can be a hike for some of the farther sites.

Beautiful campground, waking distance to the visitors center and trailheads.

Congaree Park is absolutely beautiful. The visitor's center is very nice, and the boardwalk through the swamp was fantastic. At night we got to see the synchronized blinking of fireflies. While getting out to the further campgrounds can be a bit of a hike, the path is nice and wide. Absolutely would stay again!

Excellent visit! We came and stayed when the park was closed for the synchronized fireflies. Incredible!

Stayed two nights in Longleaf. The beauty of this National Park is hard to describe! Obviously, the Boardwalk Trail is a must-do, but there's SO MANY great places to explore. The campsites are fairly private and the visitors center has a bathroom open 24/7 if you need running water.

You can't park right by your site at Longleaf so if you have one of the further back spots be prepared to carry things to your site. Bring the bug-spray!
