We had an increadible time at Snow Peak Cabin! The location is a great base for anyone who wishes to enjoy backcounrty wintertime activities! The cabin was clean and layout perfect for our stay! We splitboard toured the area for 4 days and didnt even scratch the surface of what the surrounding terrain has to offer! This spot is well worth the effort it takes to get there. I highly recommend!!! Its an experience you will never forget!!! Cant wait to go back!!! Thank you to all who built and maintain the cabin, you are much appreciated!!!!

Magical place, well worth the effort to get there. Again, more trail signage would help for winter travel, especially in the exposed spots on the west side of Sherman Peak. Also, mouse traps in the cabin. The solar lights go out intermittently; I think its a sketchy connection at the battery terminal (when the connection is jiggled there the lights come on)

Ive been to the cabin many times, but this is the first time I couldn't make it. After a mile the trail had no prior use for at least a week. The snow was waist deep, wet and heavy and i couldn't get through the next 3 miles before dark even with snow shoes, so we turned around. Hopefully the snow hardens and is doable for the next guests. I reckon cross country skies can make it easily.

Perfect get away for a day or two in the NE mountains of Washington State. The Kettle Range is a gem, an older range of smooth crags and great walking, especially beautiful in the Fall, as we did it, with the larches all turning to gold. We highly recommend booking this well loved cabin.

Our trip here was incredible, great access to some incredible skiing. We stayed toasty warm at night with the fireplace, and the cabin had everything I needed and more to make some great meals out there. Cant wait to go back.

Amazing views, the cabin is clean and well cared for by guests. 1 cot is broken and the propane stove needs to be replaced so be sure to pack accordingly. If outdoor fires are permitted there is plenty of wood to scavenge without using the stores of cut wood for the woodstove.

Such a cozy well stocked cabin. The firewood and (relatively for a cabin!) clean space was much appreciated.

poor rating due to my own fault. thought end of May would be snow free. But it is a cold spring with late snows ( 2022).Had to turn around at almost 3 miles up from summer trail head due to 3' deep slush and no snow shoes, snow pants or snow boots. Will be Better prepared next time. Its called Snow Peak for a reason I now know.

Several feet of snow still at the cabin - snowshoes definitely needed. Great skiing stashes abound. Full lunar eclipse was awesome, though partially obscured from clouds. Heavy fog most of the stay, some heavy rain. Lots of animal tracks in the snow. Cabin stocked nicely with everything you need. An incredible experience - the peace/solitude alone is definitely worth the effort!

Snow Peak Cabin is a cozy if rustic experience. Lots of wood to keep you warm, propane on a nice 2-burner stove to cook with adequate kitchen pots, pans, utensils (though no dishwashing buckets or anything like that.) Some matches and a lighter were there too. Be sure that you are very well prepared to navigate there and potentially break trail the entire 5 miles. The trail may not be very obvious - we have noticed on our various trips there that prevailing winds blow snow over the trail and the orange poles, blazes and flagging can be concealed by snow or in fact not even be there further in! Be aware as well of avalanche terrain and cross those large open slopes in the final 2-ish miles very carefully (we did so 1 person at a time.) In 2021 we observed the classic warning signs of avalanche hazard: shooting cracks and the whoompf sound on slopes near the trail within a mile of the cabin. Enjoy the solitude and beauty of this special place!

Snowshoed to Snow Peak Cabin and it was an absolute treat. The cabin is cozy and comes loaded with 4 cots, a wood burning stove, propane cook top, lights, and plenty of cooking utensils to help keep your pack light for your trek. You gotta pull on the door pretty good to get it open, took me a few tries the first time. Unfortunately my car was broken into at the Kettle Crest parking lot on the top of Sherman's Pass which really sucked to drive back across the pass. Be sure to take your wallet and don't leave any valuables in your car!

For the hike in, the new snows had bent many young trees, and a few large ones, across the trail. It made the going tough. For the hike down, we met the trail crew coming up about half way thru the section of blocked trail. They had cleared all the smaller trees on their way up. That made our travel much easier. The cabin was so welcome and comfortable. All the gear provided in the cabin was surprising. We felt guilty over the level of comfort. I'm grateful for the wonderful stay we had. We filtered water from the horse trough rather than melting snow. No rodent activity was noticed in the cabin. No shortage of anything.

My Wife and I, with our four children and a dog fit quite comfortably(cozy, but comfortable). We were pleasantly surprised by how well stocked the cabin was, with firewood for the stove, propane for the cook stove, cookware and dishes, cots with mats and even a box of games to play. The privy is well taken care of and clean. We only found out about the cabin the day we started our hike and were lucky enough that it was available for that evening, but we really had no idea what to expect, what an epic blessing it was. We will definitely be back.

Great first time stay at the cabin on May 2nd 2021. My 2 sons and I made the 5 mile in just over 3 hours. I have hiked this area many times in just about every condition, but this was the most challenging. The weather was nice, but the mixture of mud, snow and ice made for some dicey sections. We chose not to bring snow shoes, which ended up being a good choice as we would have had to take them on and off many times. However, the were many post holing incidents on the way up and down.
The cabin was awesome and left clean inside from the previous visitors - we did the same. Melting snow reveled aluminum and tin cans that were used for target practice - we packed what we could find, but I'm sure there is more to be uncovered.

The cabin was very comfortable for the two of us, well supplied with pots and dishes, cots, and even games and puzzles. No sign of mice (reported by others). Snow was crusty, but we had a nice snowshoe. Windy and chilly, but the wood stove kept us plenty warm.
