Beautiful venue, clean sites, and clean restrooms. I would not recommend staying here if you have a young family. There arent many families camping here, and it seems like they dont have a lot of compassion for children. The website states that this is an OHV Campground. I highly suggest you AVOID this campground if you have OHVs. They will exaggerate your errors and harass you to deter you from operating them. The worst part of the experience was the unprofessional and downright rude campground host. He had the audacity to raise his voice and scream at me like he was berating his own child. It was hands down the worst camping experience I have had - mind you Im 41 years old and have camped around the southwest US my entire life.

This is probably our favorite campground of all! We live in Phoenix and have visited here many times over the last 20 years. The sites are widely spaced, paved, and the bathroom facilities are spotlessly clean. We particularly like the summertime mountain weather and to hear the wind rustle through the tops of the tall Ponderosa Pines. It is only an easy drive down Lake Mary Road to the university town of Flagstaff. We also like the weekend talks by the Forestry Service in the amphitheater covering a wide range of varied topics.

The campsites aren't as clean upon arrival as they were several years ago. The current hosts do not monitor the campground as well as previous hosts which means things are happening that are against the rules. We've been camping at Pinegrove monthly for 5 years and this is the first time young kids were allowed to drive OHV vehicles and do laps around the campground. These boys could not have been more than 5 or 6 years old and were going the wrong way on the one-way road. There was also a family that brought in a dirt bike and those young boys were riding double and doing laps around the campground.

We love this place. Sites, bathrooms and showers are always neat and super clean. Staff is friendly.
