The cabin is behind locked gates at both ends adding to a sense of security since cell coverage is not available.
Nice hikes up on the ridge and a wonderful corrals at the far end of the road/track.

That said, the location is in the midst of the most spectacular forest and highland of Arizona. For those prepared for the journey, the location yields a welcome respite from the scurrying madness of Phoenix.
Our group arrived late October, at the beginning of the winter season. The crisp, clean air, and blue skies, and the strong, warm sun over the sweeping expanses of canyon lands and ponderosa pine were spectacular. The wood stove in the cabin was a bit of work to maintain, yet, toasty warm. The cabin is well built, holding up well to the cold nights, and well ventilated, allowing good, fresh air to come during warm days. There is a useful refrigerator, somewhat on the small side, and a gas stove. Easy to cook, easy to clean. And a lovely porch. Very family friendly.
