Very beautiful campground with large campsites. It took a minute for me to realize it's a one-way loop. Running bathrooms are a plus. No ranger station or place to buy wood in the campground.

It was a quiet, wooded, beautiful campground and site. We were so glad to spend a night there after touring the observatory. The weather was great. The bathrooms were clean. The sites were all nice.

Right after reopening, April mid week, only 4 other campers. So peaceful and quiet! :)

Lovely campground - such a wonderful location! The bathrooms and showers were open, which was good.

The site was pleasant enough. A bit run down. The shower block was closed with no information beforehand about this being the fact. Left a day early so that we could get a shower.

Site was clean and flat. Parking was great as it is asphalt. A bit cold but tis the time of year. There was no check in office, so I was unsure about that, but my site had a reserved placard and I just put my confirmation on my dash. All in all, it's a great site to get away and see the stars. Awesome drive up the mountain too, if you're into that sort of thing lol. My car loves the twisters HaHa.

Campground was quite overgrown since the last visit. There was no host on-site, someone even knocked on our door at 8:00 am to ask questions about day fees and parking. Majority of the restrooms and all of the showers were closed, something not disclosed in any of the communications prior to our stay. Will stay there again for a change of scenery now and again, but it didn’t compare to previous stays.

Bathrooms were pretty clean, but the fire pits and bbqs needed clean out.

Peaceful, small campground with plenty of restrooms, grills, fire pits, trash bins, water spigots, and places for telescopes. Absolutely no cell reception. When we went, the volunteer host was Jeremy, who had wood available and was very friendly. There's a nice hike to the observatory, which was closed as of July, but the view point on the way up was still nice. The general store down the mountain was closed so there wasn't anywhere nearby to get ice. A quick drive to the Doane Campground and Palomar Mountain hiking trails.
