Russian River Campground is located in the Seward Ranger District, Chugach National Forest (2 hrs 2 min southwest of Anchorage, AK) with an elevation of 341 feet. There are a total of 83 campsites. The campground is normally open from the beginning of June to mid August. 80 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 20 and 100 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Fees range from $23.00 to $33.00. Activities include biking, fishing, hiking trails.

The tree branches on the King Salmon loop need to be trimmed back from the road. I have a 28' trailer and the tree limbs scratched the back end of the camper. There is not enough room to avoid the limbs. There is no way that a 49' camper/motorhome would fit in that campground (as state on the website).

Absolutely beautiful place! This was our first time and it was one of our favorite places ! So much space and spaced out enough to have some privacy! Absolutely look forward to visiting again.

We always enjoy our trip to the Russian River each year. This year we got a double site for friends to join us .It absolutely was not big enough so that was very disappointing. Besides that it was beautiful and we did have a good time.

We enjoyed our yearly visit to the Russian River campground and river but were disappointed on two counts: the road repairs are not yet complete (paving remains to be done), and sharing the river trail with bicyclists was a drawback. We feel they should not be allowed, especially along the river.

Fast service, campsite clean, pit toilets were usually clean in spite of the crowd.

Absolutely perfect! Large sites with great separation and a walks way from Alaskas premier fishing location. Staff is always friendly and helpful and the sites are maintain amazingly despite the austere environment. Our favorite trip every year. Highly recommend!

The manager & staff were very competent & helpful. This is primarily a salmon & trout fishing destination. There is a great & easy hike 2.3 miles up to the Falls where salmon stage before their movement up the narrow series of boulders and waterfalls to their spawning grounds. Always carry & know how to use bear spray. You will see bear - both black and brown bears. Salmon fishing is mid June to end of August. Crowded and camping sites in high demand.

The staff here are top notch and really knowledgable about the surroundings and camground. Our campsites were very clean and well-kept. We met a lot of day campers hiking to the falls to see the salmon and we met a nice group from NJ using a compass to get out of the parking lot that we were able to assist. There were only 4 million fish up the Kenai this year so fishing was not bad.

Camping spots in good shape, work continues on road in to camping spots, although they started that works tears ago, so not sure why its not finished. Only complaint I had was dump station was running over and closed most of the time we were there.

We had an amazing experience at the Russian River Campground! Beautiful, clean and well kept! Loved the beautiful boardwalk along the river and we even lucked out with a bear sighting as soon as we made our way down to the river. Mahalo from Hawaii! Well definitely be back next Summer!

Beautiful campground, big tables, fire pits & bear boxes! Most sites we had were fairly level!Close to fishing & hiking trails! Plan ahead for salmon runs!

Very beautiful campground,the sockeye were not there in numbers so we caught our fish somewhere else. The hike to the falls was very nice. Would recommend to campers .

I only gave four stars because of the amount of overgrowth on trail. It was difficult blindly walking thru while still trying to be proactive towards the wildlife. Other than that I loved every minute of the hike, from the solitude to the majestic views.

Great location for access to the River. Reservations we not the easiest to get because it's so busy but well run.
