Cabin was well maintained and perfectly located! Beautiful hike out to the lake.

The cabin was great and the setting was wonderful. Be prepared with firewood before driving out to the cabin. We had difficulty finding any firewood in town so plan accordingly if visiting during the cooler months.

Always a good spot to bring the kids. Also always a good spot to make sure you bring your own firewood, the only reason for 4/5 stars. I dont remember a time with good wood left there, but I always stack whats there by the stove to dry with what I bring and leave my extras for the next camper. Again, I love the cabin and the accessibility even though the price has just about doubled

This place was so Rad! Stayed there 7 nights. Lucid horror dreams nightly ! Dark as your darkest night terrors ..day and night . Really nice wood stove, enjoy the hunt for dry heartwood as you split rounds into paper thin kindling and place it on top of the barely burning stove to try to dry it out enough to burn it .. pretty much the way a cabin in AK should be ! Love it will be back with the wife and kiddos sometime just to see what dream worlds we all enter !

The cabin is fine. It is on the National Historic register as the last remaining structure of the town of Alaganik. However, we reserved it for two nights, but only stayed one due to the road construction that was happening basically outside the front door. Very noisy, with a generator and pump running all night and a work crew operating excavators, dozers, a compactor, and dump trucks 7 am- 5 pm. At least they quit at 5! Would have been nice to have been informed of the construction activities by USFS staff, who we contacted in person that day.

The location was great for our needs during the time we stayed. The cabin and location were comfortable and in good condition. It also seems that the people that used the cabin before us left a nice air mattress ( hope it is still there for the next people).

It’s nicely restored but very historic cabin. The small windows and deep forest setting make it dark inside. Also, it isn’t private during the day due to lots of traffic on the trail.

Cabin was cute, weather was not. A little annoying that people kept trying to enter the cabin. Apparently, people try to use these cabins when they haven’t paid. So, I put up a sign at one point to stop trying to enter our cabin and shine lights into it, etc. Did have a great time. We got checked on by a fish and game officer at one point, which was nice. Mosquitos were terrible in the cabin. Bring zappers, etc. or you’ll wake up with swollen faces. Cordova was beautiful, we will be back again.

Clean, comfortable cabin. Only used the stove for late evening warming fires and it was easy to use and efficient.

Outhouse was super clean.

The cabin is conveniently located between Covdova and the Copper River affording good access either direction for wildlife viewing and trails.

The cabin was amazing! Very clean, as always! And one thing we absolutely love about this cabin is it comes with fire starter and wood for you to supplement with, we love staying here and love how it’s a perfect getaway spot in Cordova! Our only issue is the Floo on the stove, was broken and was completely open the entire trip, which made our fire go out very quickly. In the past we have never had a problem with the stove and have loved how easy it is to build a fire in it. The floo just needs to be fixed :) again thank you for an incredible stay and a beautiful cabin to stay in!! We love it there❤️

This is a great cabin if you're looking for easy access from the road. An overnight here will save you time on the next day's adventures, McKinley Lake trail and Pipeline Loop are out your doorstep. In the summer go for a swim in the lake, in the winter bring your snowshoes and x-country ski's. Bring your own wood and leave a stockpile behind for the stranded motorist.
