My favorite cabin in all of Alaska, although I haven't been to many. I look forward to this trip every year. It's a jaunt out there, so I always hope the weather is good. I was lucky this year.

Cabin is very nice, and the location is outstanding! There are deer in the area, there are no black bear on the island. Harbor is excellent for boats, access is easy, although I would be extra careful at low tide. My ATT phone had 2 bars. There is a little propane stove to heat water and food. The oil furnace works really good, but signs are posted saying to only using heating oil, no kerosene, etc. I have made a short video about our last trip to Green Island, showing off the cabin here: https://youtu.be/GaN8BuEzbJo

Previous guests had left so much stuff behind that the shelves were mostly full. We hauled a full contractor bag away with us.
Please don't leave anything behind besides maybe fuel and water.

Cabin and deck are nice and comfortable. You can enjoy a great view of the sound or set on the beach, weather permitting, in front of the cabin.
However, the toilet needs to be emptied and taken care of as it is getting to the point that the pile will soon reach the seat.
I suggest that you bring one of the small, inexpensive battery powered fuel transfer pumps to transfer the kerosene from your container into the cabin kerosene holding tank as the fill port for the tank is at about eye level above the deck for the average height person. (My nephew splashed kerosene into his eye because of the height of the fill spout). It wasn't serious as we were able to flush it out of his eye with water, However, it could have easily been worse and could have splashed onto his clothing as well. (I have since purchased on of the small transfer pumps at my local hardware store for about $40.00.)

Aside from these issues it is a very pleasant and functional cabin.

We come into the cove at low tide using the GPS for marked rock avoidance and had two people on the bow for visual observance. After that we followed the "tracks" on the GPS in and out. The low tide we come in on was a +0.7, the shallowest water we encountered was approximately eight freet so at minus tides one would obviously encounter shallower water.

All in all a good time and good experience. It was 2½ hours from Whitter to the island running at about 26 mph. I recommend that you consider extra fuel as we had to run back to Whittier to get more fuel, and had to limit our site seeing excursions,

Beautiful destination and cabin. Wood stove could use some TLC but still heats the cabin well enough. Love reading about everyone’s adventures in the log book.

Great remote location. Beautiful beach. Bring bug spray. Some of the biting bugs leave big welts.

Lovely spot. Hard to get good weather but so nice to have the protected cove/alternative beach!

Great cabin. Be sure to bring slippers for walking about in the cabin. Rain comes in under the front door and if you are there during a windy rain storm the floor will be wet.

Clean well maintained cabin. Comfortable and secure in the roughest weather. This was my second stay at the cabin. Both were great.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.
