It was not easy to use Rec.gov to get reservations. You cannot get internet at the campground and it is not clear how to use the app. The camp host was considerate and helpful. The campground was clean and quiet

Camped in site 18 and was initially concerned that the water spigot next to my site was leaking. Turns out, it's a great draw for wildlife! Got to see Mexican jays, white-breasted nuthatches, acorn woodpeckers, bridled titmice, spotted towhees, and western bluebirds, as well as deer and those skampish coatis!

Loved this site and this campground and this park! What a gem - we'll be back. A reminder: THIS IS AN INTERNATIONAL DARK SKY PARK. DO NOT BRING EXTERIOR STRING LIGHTS ETC. LEAVE THEM AT HOME FOR YOUR HOUSE IN YOUR NON-DARK-SKY neighborhoods.

Had spot #18 fit our Winnebago 22R and our chevy trax with room to spare. Lots of wildlife and did not scrap motorhome coming in or going out. quiet and peaceful, wonderful weekend.

The campground is beautiful with lots of wild life. We had deer and coatis drinking at the water tap next to our campsite. There are terrific views from the top of the ridge.

Park is beautiful located at the base of the mountain and start of the valley trail.

Excellent location to Monument. Amenities are minimal but location makes up for a lot. Site 18 was big enough for our 25' Airstream and 22' van parked in front of the trailer. We did not drag the ground at the creek crossings but have a 3" lift on the Airstream.

Sites too close together and camp neighbors pushy and overly sensitive. We had a hearing impaired person with us who talked loudly in order to communicate. We did not talk beyond the posted quiet hours but camp neighbors were not patient with our situation and were very rude to us. Not a great experience

Camp Host (Roy) had 3 barking sniveling whining dogs in his camper unattended when he wasn't in his camper, (Campground rules state: no pets left unattended) He also had a 3' fence outside his camper door approx 10'x30' diameter! ( campground rules state: pets MUST be on a leash when outside! WHAT A DAM HYPOCRITE! GO AHEAD, LOOK UP THE RULES!

Campsite was sloped and proved difficult to level trailer. Steady rain turned the site into mud. Bathrooms were clean and had flush toilets. Site had grey water dump stations within walking distance from each campsite. Plenty of wild life viewing and hiking available from the campsite.

We stayed at #18 - across from the Host. It was a clean and quiet place. Beautiful time of the year. Nice campsite along the wash. Despite the amount of camper vans etc, and people with their dogs there was no generator or dog sounds disturbing us. Were were tent camping. Only issue was the smoke from campfires drifting into our tent which was quite strong. But it did not last. Restrooms were very clean.

Very nice, quiet, peaceful, and clean camp ground. We did some fun and great hiking in the Chiricahua’s and then relaxed at our campsite.
Definitely recommend.

This campground and my site #18 in particular are lovely. I enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of the canyon and the wildlife (I made friends with a Mexican Jay who let me take its picture.) I only stayed one night and did not take advantage of the amenities. But this is a pretty and private camping experience I enjoyed. The sites are small and would only lend themselves to small campers and tents. Fires were not permitted. There isn't a place nearby to buy anything, so I'm glad I had everything I needed when I arrived.

We visited in mid-January and made the drive to the Whitewater Draw Nature Reserve to see the migrating Sandhills Cranes. Definitely worth the trip!

This is one of our favorite campgrounds in Arizona. Historic buildings, nicely spaced sites, water, gray water dump, great hiking. We stayed in #18 this time and it was lovely.

A fire pit would have made the experience much better...lovely spot
@SusanG165 · Camped on Oct 31, 2021 at Campsite #18
The simplicity of the campground was beautiful. The host , Catherine, was cheery and helpful and the entire atmosphere was perfect. The campground itself is sheltered by some hills and the cellphone reception was very rare. It was good for me to spend 4 nights offline, reading in the evenings. There is an open WiFi network in the Visitor Center.

Amazing campground, with incredible hikes and views close by. Loved the Coatimundi, the white tailed deer, and the fact that generators are not allowed!
