Had a grand time at the Bonita Canyon Campground! Beautiful spot to bring my Braxton Creek FreeSolo Teardrop Camper. Had two choices on spots (#1 and 11) at the time I made the reservation and was happy I choose #1! Friendly Camp Host (Lee) and the staff at the Visitor Center was also very friendly!

Wonderful campground. Helpful host and staff at the visitor center. Exceptionally clean bathrooms. Great hiking. Hope to get back there again in the future!!

The campground is very nice and clean and quiet. Saw some deer in the morning, and various other wildlife. Its definitely a drive out there but its beautiful and glad we got to experience it!

Really cool place. alot of hiking (We didn't) but... Beautiful place. Heated bathrooms, water available, Bar-b-cue s work great for fire pits. I will say though. Spots are VERY close together. I mean, much closer than any other .gov site. We heard the people next to us snoring kinda close. So there's that. But... Overall worth it. Stay here. We will again .

Site 1 was ideal. Not much room for parking if you're hauling a camper, but as a tenter it's a perfect location. If you're looking for solitude you should probably hit some of the dispersed camping in the NF, though this may have been one of the quietest fully booked campgrounds I've ever stayed at. The wildlife and views are amazing as well. We even had a group of over twenty coati stroll through our site on the second night! This was our second time in this campground and we'll definitely be back.

Clean. A really nice quiet campground partly because the sites are to small for big RV's so you do not have to deal with the noise from generators. You can sign up for a shuttle at the visitor center the day before you go on a hike. The shuttle will drop you off at different trailheads so you can hike from the trailhead back to the campground.

It’s a cute little campground that we had been to decades ago. Space 1 has open areas on two sides, which we appreciated. We brought wood for the grill for some of our cooking. It was a short walk to the bathrooms (flush toilets and sink, an improvement since our last visit) which also is the spot where you can meet a shuttle to a trailhead (make reservations at the visitor center). Quiet hours from 8pm to 8 am seemed to begin too early in the evening for our schedule, but we were happy for it in the morning.

Love it here!! We saw tons of deer, coatimundi, it’s so incredibly quiet. Love the camp host also!

Campsite was a little tight. There are rock barriers that limit the positioning of the RV.

This was by far the quietest place I have camped in a long time. The camp host was very nice and the entire grounds were very clean. Both mornings we saw white tail deer eating under the oak trees. Very awesome site. I will definitely be going back.

Wonderful park, beautiful area and great hiking trails. Campground sign said it was full but there were several empty sites? Staff were very good.

The campground is located away from a major highway, has well-established and comfortable tent pads, and everyone near us was quiet even during none quiet hours.

Wonderfully, peaceful and quiet. We had our 3 and 6 year old along with us and were easily the loudest party in the camp. We arrived on a Monday and left on a Thursday. The only disappointment was that we didn't make our reservation through Friday. No host was on duty when we were there, but the campground seemed to manage itself quite well. Clean bathrooms, plenty of water spouts and grey water dump stations make it easy to keep the campground tidy. Wild Turkey and Deer are plentiful in the surrounding forest. Campsite 1,2 and 4 work well if you're hoping to camp with friends and link sites together. Massai Point is a nature trail at the end of the NP road and shouldn't be missed. It's a 1/2 mile loop with 10 miles worth of scenic vista's crammed in. Other "kid friendly" hikes include Echo Canyon trail to the "Grottoes." You'll know when you get there, its a great spot to stop and have a lunch or snack. We also visited the Stafford Cabin. On the way to the cabin, keep an eye out for a small enclosure on the hillside up to the right of the trail. It has a small opening and a barred window. Apparently, it was used to house an adopted orphaned bear cub by the CCC as they constructed the trials and roads of the park. If you're planning to stay here you wont be disappointed.
