Camping in Bonita Canyon was awesome! The camp itself is a small one, but the surrounding nature is just beautiful. We got a campsite near the restrooms, and although the restrooms are being renovated, they still have port-a-potties there to use instead. Our campsite had a grill, a picnic table, and a flat squared off area for where tents are supposed to go. The campsite was clean and comfortable for our overnight stay. When we got to the canyon, we stopped at the visitors center to check-in and to get a map of the hikes in the area. After finding the campsite, we then decided to do the echo loop trail. Wow, what an awesome trail! We then went back to camp for a little breather. After that, we went up to Massai point and watched the sunset. It was so beautiful! It was definitely a fun time and we would absolutely go back!

Bonita is a very peaceful and clean place to camp.

The campground was beautiful! It was very well maintained. But the reason I didn't rate it the highest, was during our time there, the restrooms were under construction and portable toilets and sinks were what we had to use. I understand that construction needs to happen, and often there is no good time and people will be impacted. But I didn't get notice of this till the day I arrived. Notice would have been really helpful if I got it way more in advance. So this is not a criticism of the amazing campground. I am writing this to those that send out notifications to campers. Thank you, we will be back if we are ever down that way again!

Another wonderful visit to my favorite park in AZ, Chiricahua MM. Plan at least 2 nights in order to see more the park. We took the shuttle up to Massai Point and hiked back to the visitor center. We hiked Echo Canyon Loop and the late afternoon lighting was amazing in the Grotto - brought out the colors and shadows. We looked at the night sky from the road - unbelievable number of stars and even saw the Milky Way. Walked around Far Away Ranch and through the area where the CCC lived while building the trails in the Park. Very nice Visitor Center with staff who all knew everything there is to know about the Park!! The only down side is we did not get to see the Coatimundi 'squadron' and the 4 mo old kittens. We did see lots of birds, many from our campsite. Thanks for another great visit.

Love this campground but so many sites closed. Also the bathroom is so far from the group site which is hard with small kids who suddenly have to go.

Tentative camp hosts. Clean sites and facilities.

This is a fantastic place with unique geology - well worth the trip out. I recommend both the Echo Canyon loop and the out-and-back to Heart of Rocks. We did the shorter Echo loop on the afternoon we arrived (2hrs) and the Heart of Rocks the next morning (4hrs). You can link both together but if you have time, splitting them up will leave you with more time and energy to explore the rocks and grottos. The campground itself is comfortable and well shaded but nothing special. Come for the hiking!

Great Monument, campsites too small and crowded.

The campground was quiet, clean, and well maintained. There are heated restrooms with flush toilets, numerous potable water taps, and a couple of gray water dump stations. The campground hosts do a great job of maintaining the place, and were especially helpful in sorting out a mixup regarding my site reservation. The park is amazing and I would definitely recommend this campground to anyone planning to visit southeastern Arizona.

Nice campground. Be prepared for no ground fire - space has a BBQ you can have small fire in. Great trail walks and amazing history around the whole campground. Saw lots of deer.

We had a difficult time getting into our site with our 23 ft trailer. Trees at the entrance of the site narrowed the approach. Good descriptions of each sites size and widening entrance approaches woul help.

One of the nicest campgrounds we have stayed in.
