very clean site, and well set up. The GrayJay birds were a little aggressive, taking a check directly out of my hand. Only downfall, was no fire pit to have a fire when the temps dropped below 40.

It was awful, loud noises all night, people relieving themselves all over the campground as though some kind of jungle law scenario, birds constantly pecking at my hamburger bun bags, when I told the park ranger they nodded, started burping repeatedly and walked off.

Very beautiful. The campground was very nice. Large tree covered sites, clean bathrooms, and great camp hosts. We saw a variety of animals and many of them. It was a great place.

Bonita Canyon is beautiful and I enjoyed the campground for 3 nights. If you are relying on solar power only, the campground doesn't have many campsites with good sun exposure. Use the trail head parking lots to get your batteries recharged.

Beautful campground. Registered easily online. Stayed only one night but it was quiet, the bathrooms were very clean and location was perfect. Host was clearly marked if needed. Would definitely like to stay here again some day.

The campground was very nice and the location was perfect. It is out in the middle of nowhere with no services, cell, groceries, gas, etc. but absolutely beautiful.

I thoroughly enjoyed my day and a half in mid-January at the Chiricahua National Monument. I hiked trails at higher elevations during the first day, then set up in lovely site #2 right by the creek in Bonita Creek campground. Well designed and sited fencing preserves vegetation and reduces impact on the ground. I enjoyed the food storage containers and the graded tent platform. The rangers were wonderfully informative about local animals and plants. I spent a lovely evening and then hiked the lower Rhyolite Canyon trails in the morning. I will definitely return, perhaps even before this winter is over.

I stayed in site # 2 which is at the north end of the campground, quiet and beautiful as it was a Monday and the camp was almost empty. I always enjoy the Chiricahuas views and hikes into the hoodoo lands. The night skies are a bortle 2 rating so it's a great location to photograph the Milky Way and other nighttime wonders.

Lovely location, pristine campground. Get your reservations in early, as it does fill up quick...but totally worth it. Be prepared for no cell/wifi service to let family and friends know you arrived safely.

Recreation.gov website and app has caused me more sorrow and trouble. Used to love camping here at Bonita Canyon have been camping here for 30 years. But now thanks to this app and it's very unforgiving policies I will never be able to camp at my favorite campsite ever again. The campground host at Bonita Canyon gave me a written citation for hanging a small flashlight from a tree. This is really bad news as I have been camping here for 30 years. Never had these issues before until recreation.gov ruined everything.

We really appreciated the 8 pm to 8 am quiet hours, since this is a mixed tent/RV area. It made for an even lovelier experience. The hiking is great, but go in the morning when it's still nice and cool. So nice to have flush toilets (as long as people flush them!). Saw some really cool, unusual birds. So glad we brought binocs. We loved that there is no cell service. It definitely helps you unplug! Enjoy this lovely spot!

The campground was lovely. All the hikes are worth doing. The highway up on top is 5 miles and looks good for road biking. The only issue for me was only two women's bathroom stalls for 50 campsites. That needs to be upgraded badly.

Mobile Data Speed Map

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
