The campsite is well maintained and beautiful with lots of wildlife around.The only downside was the minimal and odd hours that you were able to run your generator.

Beautiful campground nestled amongst trees on the canyon floor. No hook-ups but water and flush toilets are close by. Loved the dog friendly hike from the campground to the Far Away Ranch! Dont miss going to the top for the views!

We arrived with the weather changing to right at freezing temperatures. We were able to drive to the top and back down before settling into camp for the night. It was a bit too windy and cold to hike but the drive and views were awesome! We woke up to snow the next day and the road up to the top was closed. It was a great experience to see a little snow and we took advantage off the down day to relax mostly inside the RV with a little walk outside for a bit.

Beautiful campground for small trailers, vans and tents. Pay close attention to site information and keep in mind that because of trees/rocks even though your rig can fit it - may be difficult to back a trailer into the site. This campground was built in the CCC era and is not for big rigs at all. We have a 21 ft tt and fit comfortably into site #20. We had enter and exit going in the opposite direction of traffic in order to back into the site, but its a small campground so it it was no problem. There are water spickets but they are not set up to fill fresh water tanks. No electric. Personally I would not want to bring anything bigger than a 25 ft trailer into the campground. There is a steep dip coming into and out of the campground - it looks like the hitch might bottom out but we had no problems. Host was very nice and helpful!!

I was impressed that the camp hosts made regular rounds to check on campers. Bathroom was kept clean. I love this campground!

A beautiful and quiet campground with plenty of shade, water available and gray water disposal. Since there are several sites and cottages with electricity, I think they should provide it throughout the campground. Its too shady for effective solar. A trip to the top of the mountain is well worth it, with a choice of hiking routes back down. Nice hikes in the canyon as well. Be sure to check the map that shows actual site lengths before booking! Pay attention to the angle of the sites as some require wrong way entry.

We really enjoyed our stay at this campground, but wonder about the efficacy of the Recreation.gov reservation system. On the day of our arrive., as we approached the campground, we noticed the sign "campground full" and were passed by several campers and cars exiting the campground. We wondered whether any of these people had hoped to camp and had been turned away because of the "full" sign. And contrary to the sign, we noted that no one ever arrived to occupy the campsite directly across from us. We stayed two nights and never saw anyone occupy that campsite -- too bad for those who showed up and actually wanted to camp there. Is there any way to impose more restrictions or even higher cancellation fees for "no shows'?

We enjoyed our stay at Bonita canyon. The messages at the entrance kiosk (no person present, just a sign) were confusing regarding the vehicles allowed into the park, but we have a 22 ft van so info did not to apply to us. The campground was really nice, people were quiet, trails wonderful. Shuttle to top was offered daily by Ranger service. Rock formations were spectacular! Visitor center worthwhile, Ranger Jay informative. Just a great experience all the way around. We hope to return to this beautiful National Monument.

Site 20 allowed for a 29 foot RV, but its impossible to back in a 29 foot RV when following the one way roads correctly . This was due to the site across the road being occupied and a tree on the corner of site 20. We had to go past, and then come in against traffic to back our RV in.

Very nice park, with amazing hikes. Hard to understand though why in such a small campground there are 3 sites given over to "hosts" - which don't seem to actually do much. Worse are the very many low hanging branches. Our site description stated 14' clearance, but there were branches down to about 11 feet, and there are many more very low branches to pass through getting to the site itself. Its as though they just don't want anybody over 10 or 11 feet to camp there. We have a truck camper, no problem with length, but we wish we had known about all the branches. Oh, and very limited toilets.

Loved the campground, went in June. Shady, comfortable and well spaced sites. Ranger Micah helped me out above and beyond the call of Duty.

Really nice campground! Plenty of space between sites, lots of shade and spotted lost of wildlife
@TeresaR389 · Camped on Jan 7, 2022 at Campsite #20
It was a beautiful campground. There were nice paths to hike- and we saw many deer and a large group of coatimundi. Our space had nice room for our camper. There is a 24 foot max vehicle size to go further into the park, and unfortunately our camper was 25 feet. But we still had a lovely time. I hear the public restroom was nice and was even heated!
