Loved the trees at the campground

Such a SPECIAL place. Although the weather was unpredictable, the wildlife in the campground made up for it (wild turkeys, acorn woodpeckers, and the best were the gray breasted jays that would eat peanuts out of hand).

Space #6 is a great camp spot, with good privacy & space, & good star viewing gap in the trees, plus a good level site. Love the entire park; hiking at every level & distance, to amazing rock formations. Our 1st trip here but, def not our last. Thanks NP's :-)

Beautiful quiet campground. The stars were amazing! The only thing is I wish they had fire rings for actual fires because it did get cold! The grill was OK but we had to sit on the picnic table to get any heat.

Great campground close to amazing hikes!

Our stay was Awesome! The campsite was impeccably clean and we were the first ones to use the brand new grill! It was fun watching the deer and turkeys walk through camp. Luckily we never saw the bear who left scat 20 yards from camp. The only downfall was the 2 other campers who came into our campsite to rudely complain about us using a generator. We had checked the website before we went and quite time is 8pm to 8am. At 7pm two nights this happened. We even checked with the host. I would definitely go back to this beautiful campground!

Great campground hosts. Trails are beautiful! Birding was good. Visiting the Hoodoos is a must.

The campground was fine, the Feds need to trim the trees at the camp site so the branches don't scrape on the RV's. Also the Feds need to provide a RV only parking space in front of their visitor center and warn RV owners not to park in the car parking lot, no turn around for RV's with tow car.

The campground was very peaceful. The restroom was clean. The only drawback was the orientation of the driveway to the campsite. It was hard to back into. Once we were in it was a nice site. Only a few sites can accommodate trailers it looks like so double check trailer and tow vehicle lengths and even when there is enough room it access might be cramped.

Really enjoyed this campground. We were literally at the max length of trailer and truck but it all turned out great. F350 full length with 21ft travel trailer. Total length 48. We were in space 6 back in. It was a little tight getting in but we got in and it worked perfectly. Situated on the side of the creek (dry at this time of year Dec 10/11 2023) there were so many birds and deer. We hit freezing temps overnight but with no precipitation, it was great. No showers in the campground bathrooms but the bathrooms were clean and maintained well. Its awesome to have the only shuttle of the day pick you up at the campground for a trip to the top of the peak. From there you can adventure in several directions with sights and views for days and days We started by hiking up Sugarloaf Mountain which is uphill on the way and then the same downhill on the way back. Just at 2 miles with a summit finish at the Lookout. Off to the east you see into NM. south into MEX. North and west into souther Arizona. We then made our way to the Echo Canyon trailhead and upon recommendation from Finn in the Visitor Center, we took the Echo Canyon Trail into the Grotto and down to Upper Rhyolite to Lower Rhyolite back to the Visitor Center and then to our spot in the Bonita Campground. We did just shy of 10 miles and each earned a pin from the Visitors Center for completing over 5 miles. The Campground is so peaceful. No electric or water so come prepared You can run a generator but not during the quiet hours of 8pm to 8am. You dont want to ruin the quiet anyway. We ran ours just before dusk to charge up and eat then lights out. We ran our portable solar battery for reading lights and to watch a movie. We will be back and now we know we can get in well. We also know we cant take a bigger rig in. There are campgrounds for larger rigs about thirty minutes away. Close enough to hike here but also have all the hook ups and wifi

I recommend this campground for anyone wanting to enjoy the monument or learn fascinating new things from hosts or the visitor's center. I had so much fun and met so many new and friendly faces! The area is absolutely beautiful!

Beautiful, clean campground. Camp group host was friendly, helpful and informative.

Check in was so simple. The host , Bob, was very helpful. The camp ground was shaded in the trees and the sites were spaced far enough for privacy. It was midweek so no noisy kids around. And the rules don't allow for scooters and riding toys . So that wouldn't be a problem. Temps were a little on the warm side, l in the afternoon, so we needed our generator to run the ac. Our only problem was neighbors with flashlights. They don't seem to realize they are shining in other people's windows.

Wonderful experience, the newest weather pattern wasn't a dry one but Monsoons hitting in May is unusual still we had loads of fun at this campground, clean, accessible, quiet with great hikes!

Sweet wooded campground with pretty sites and beautiful stone bridge and buildings. Super cute and great for tents and small campers. The dark night sky through the tree canopy at my site was just filled with bright stars.

Such a great campground! Went in December so it was pretty cold, but be prepared and you'll do just fine! Lots of beautiful hikes in the area of ever level of difficulty. Close to the visitor center which was a perk. The campsite itself was awesome. Extremely clean and well spaced out, I didn't feel like I was camping on top of people. Has running bathrooms. Overall, I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Great site!
@RobertG856 · Camped on Dec 26, 2021 at Campsite #6
Sites are well placed for independence in a limited space overall. Maintenance is excellent. Neat to have person (I think it was Catherine, during our
stay) who simply wanted to see if all is in order at each site. And, she could easily engage in good-natured conversation.
@ValerieD624 · Camped on Dec 9, 2021 at Campsite #6
lovely campground. I enjoyed the walk to Faraway Ranch house after the rain cleared. Echo Canyon is a must do hike, it was fabulous early in the morning.
Bathrooms were nice and clean, and the camp host was friendly.
