Very remote location, but we found it worth the trip. Campground is shaded and within walking distance of the visitor's center. Loved the long hikes among the incredible rock formations. We even saw coatimundi!

Lovely campground, lots of wildlife, gorgeous trees. Well managed, peaceful campground.

Beautiful, quiet campground in Chiricahua. Clean bathhouses. Our site was very large and right up against the cliff wall with a beautiful view.

This is a nice campground, with good privacy in many sites. The only issue in space 13 is its a little tough to find a level parking spot in our van. The space is quite large with great view of cliffs, which def outweighed the sloped parking.

Very nice stay for a quick one day and night at Chiricahua Natl Monument. Definitely not a big motorhome or trailer friendly campground. But we were perfect in a camper van.

Nice location, clean campground, flushing toilets a bonus! We also saw plenty of wildlife while hanging out there. Close to lots of hiking trails which we took advantage of.

The place was beautiful! We got to see wild life up close. It was a great experience and the staff are very involved with the people who come in. The only thing that was tricky was that there was no fire pit and floor fires are not aloud. So bring something to use for a campfire

Site 13 had a lot of privacy, several deer came near our site as well as wild turkeys, it was great!
@GretchenSF5773 · Camped on May 5, 2024 at Campsite #13
Overall campground was great. Plenty of wildlife walking around (deer, turkey, jays) to keep it entertaining. CG is very shaded but enough sun to use your solar panels at different times of the day. Rustic in that the sites don't appear to be groomed (leaves and natural debris removed). No problem. just clear the leaves before setting anything up. They are full of moths and spiders that will visit you in the evening if you don't. Bathrooms are clean enough to use, but you are bombarded by moths and spiders in the evening. Annoying, but not a big problem. The sink drain was clogged with moth carcasses the five days we were there. Two water wells/pumps were out of order. Would stay again. Recommend to the service that the CG could use some attention.

It would be nice to develop a second biffy for one of the loops. More tenters this time, including myself, so more users. But in all, once again, a lovely campground.

Such a wonderful place to camp!!! We love that this campground has remained a dry camping place and has not been modernized. There are so few places now that remain as a true camping site.

Every campsite is great! Nice tent pad. Each site is surrounded by beautiful trees. They even had heated bathrooms!

It was a very nice small intimate campground . Everyone seemed to make an effort maintain the peace and quiet of the camping experience except the person across the street from me. Despite setting up portable solar panels all day, he was compelled to run a generator for several hours at twilight and into the night , thus ruining the serenity of the campground. Generators should be banned from this campground. Its outrageous that one thoughtless person can ruin the experience of the group. There are plenty of other places someone like this can go camp to run his generator all day and night. I will not be returning to this campground, nor would I recommend it to others if they are seeking a serene environment.

Wonderful, relatively small campground. Beautiful setting. Clean restrooms with cold water sinks. Friendly camp hosts. We will be back!

This is a beautiful campground and if you are tent or car/van camping, #13 is the best site!
Nice hikes out of the campground and the park shuttle picks up hikers to take to Echo Canyon
and Massai....very convenient. Love this place! Internet at Visitors Center and cell service at
Echo Canyon!

Coatis scurried through our campsite while we were sitting at the table. Bridled titmice, Mexican jays, and acorn woodpeckers were busy in the trees above. We could walk to the visitor center and along the creek on a lovely shaded trail. It's a small campground and everyone was quiet at night. Unfortunately one RV used a generator. It would be WONDERFUL if the Park Service would phase out allowing fossil fuel generators - the noise and fumes affect everyone else in the campground, even if it's only ONE campsite with a generator. Solar panels are available, affordable and more convenient - no fuel to buy, ever! And it lets everyone in the campground hear the wind in the trees and the birds and the weird noises of the coatis instead of machine noise.

Chiricahua NM is my favorite park to escape to for superb hiking when snows are flying in Colorado.
That said, you will be risking your life riding a bike on the narrow roads.

Beautiful, well maintained campground in a spectacular setting. Campground host was very engaged in answering questions, cleaning campsites and giving directions. Road to Massai was a real treat. Access to unique geology was available. Great interpretive museum at the top. Seeing coatimundi and white tail deer on the hike to Faraway was a treat. Learning abut the CCC, the Erickson and Riggs family provided a real connection to the history of the Chiricahua National Monument.
