Great campground! My dad started our family tradition camping at Stony point on Leech Lake. He recently passed this year before our camping trip. We plan to continue our camping tradition in honor of him. Stony point brought him so much joy.

Wonderful campground, beautiful lake with some beaches. Most sites have electricity. Sites were large and level. If you go in 2023 prepare for mosquitos. But that is true everywhere in MN this year. This is one of my favorite campgrounds. If you can snag a site, go, and just enjoy Leech Lake!

Stoney Point is an outstanding camping and recreational area

Would go again! Loved being by the water. Our campsite was about 20 feet from Leech Lake and had a small beach area where we parked our chairs and relaxed. Seemed as is we were transported to an island paradise! PS Wear bug repellent!! There’s also a grass and beach area open to all campers.

Electric available at your site. Sewer hookup/ water available at a location near the middle of the campground and is well maintained.

The location of Stony Point is on a secluded peninsula on Leach Lake. It is a slow, winding road to get to the campground, but nice. Helps to feel like you are really getting away from the touristy parts of the area. But is is close enough to Walker and other restaurants/shopping that you can spend some of your time in town without being gone from the campground for hours. The campsites are nice and secluded also, lots of trees and space in between. The swimming beach and sandy shoreline were perfect for putting our kayaks in the water. And the shoreline was within walking distance from our campsite. However, the public bathrooms and showers were not very clean and smelled bad - lots of bugs and cobwebs inside the bathrooms especially. But overall, we enjoyed our time there and would return again.

We had space #011. Beautiful trees, path to lake with view, very nice. Neighbors were quiet and respectful. Felt safe there.
