Beautiful area; beautiful campground. Camp Host did not fulfill his duties: Did not enforce the maximum number of vehicles, etc., at sites. Did not enforce noise rules, or stop the extra large, multi-site group, from shooting off Fireworks for over an hour, down near our site. Camp Host was rude and unprofessional, twice, banging hard on our door, telling us to be out by 1PM. It was more than an hour before checkout time; we already had our things packed up, and were just finishing up our lunch, before leaving. He did not introduce himself, did not thank us for coming, or invite us to please come again he just told us to, Be out by 1PM; theres another group coming in! He was downright NASTY! We stopped to dispose of our garbage before leaving; he was sitting on the top of a Picnic Table, watching a woman do the raking of the nearby site My husband went over to talk to him, telling him we had already had our things packed and ready to go; and to address the Fireworks issue The Camp Host just flailed his arms up in the air, and said, Whatever! He did not care about anything, but being Nasty; unapologetic and uncivil.

Arrived on Wednesday and we had the entire camp area to ourselves until Friday. The restrooms were the cleanest Ive ever seen and the lake was peaceful. Thank goodness we had Thermacells as the bugs were bad without. The towering trees were quite the site to see.

Easy to find. Very beautiful area..Very old Pines ....clean bathrooms. Lovely Bird songs and Magical Loon songs. Clean area that is cared for by volunteers that certainly love what they do ! No firewood and a hand pump for water. Bugs were not terrible.(early June) Peaceful area and Clubhouse Lake is pristine. Good for Canoe and Kayaks. Sandy Beach and walking path. Sites are somewhat far apart and blocked by Forest but basically private. Picnic Table and Fire Ring. No cell service/T-Mobile.

Great spot. Very quiet. Camped on an August weekend and few people in the campground or on the lake. Will definitely be making a return trip.

The steps to the lake could use a little work . I was navigating them in a cast ( broken leg )
Looked for horse shoes and didn't locate them . We used to play a lot up there .

Have been wanting to get up here for a long time. Decades ago, my father owned a lot of land directly across the lake, and I regret SO that he sold it!We're now tenting, after pop up for years, large teardrop for a few trips, small one pop out bunk hybrid, and now back to tenting. Site 14 was superb, large, and the entire campground has lots of space between sites, growth, and most of the sites are very large. Site 14 could easily hold 5 large tents. Phone signal would help for internet access, but got along without. Also checked out other Nat'l Forest sites and campgrounds, and Lost Forty. Next time will bring canoe or a boat.

Great camping experience. The primitive camping is a wonderful way to connect with nature, get away from constant technology interaction.

Campsites were clean. Some people had a hound dog that was barking all the time; not what I want going camping in the woods.

We love this campground. My husband's family has been coming her for 50 years. This year we weren't happy with the camp host. We understand that quiet time is 10.00 p.m. but talking around your camp fire 15 minutes after 10 :00 p.m. should not be considered being too loud, and does not warrant a visit from the camp host. If there was complaints from other campers it would be understandable.

Very nice campground, quiet during the week. The swimming area was warm and clear with the sunnies swimming around us. The vault toilet was clean and didn't smell. Would recommend it for anyone wanting to have a nice quiet experience in the woods among the tall pines.

I have used Clubhouse Lake Campground many, many times beginning back in the 60's or 70's. Being retired I now go there weekdays to avoid any crowd, and it's always serene and peaceful. It is a beautiful setting populated with mature red pines and has a wonderful and clear lake that's great for swimming and fishing. A fishing pier is in place. With new asphalt pavement the drive in has five fewer miles of gravel road. At this time of the year (July) the mosquitos are plentiful so bring your repellent. If you want to drive out for a bite there's a breakfast/lunch place in the nearest town (Marcell), and a mile or two north of there a restaurant/bar/motel. The food is good and the prices decent at both places. Also at the town is an information center that can answer your questions and supply information about the area and its attractions. The locals are nice folks; friendly and helpful. I will be back for sure, and recommend it to you.

Only few comments: Kids were swimming off the handi-cap pier, no recycle pickup do to lack of personnel and no more wood sales. Not all the sites can be reserved is another deficit. Aside from the minor issues the stay was excellent. We will return again!

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
