Too many campers without their dogs on a leash and not controlling them. Walking around the road in the campground when a aggressive bulldog came out and attacked my daughter and her dog and the owners were not taking responsibility for it. Thankfully they left the next morning.

The campground is very nice. paved road right to the campground. Sites are spread out with plenty of space, paved loop road is good with easy service to sites and dump station, bath house is one of the best we have seen / used, quiet atmosphere, the commons / boat landing area is very nice with full service for boat landing or day use. The Rangers do their best to maintain the CG but they have several CGs / Areas to maintain and are stretched rather thin. There is a full time CG host but in as many times as we have been here we have NEVER seen them do ANYTHNG, we have never seen them leave their site, they are very unfriendly with no camper interaction ? No CG mowing, site clean between reservations, no fire pit cleaning, no general trash pickup, or general conditions maintenance, thank goodness the bath house / vault toilets cleaning is sub contracted they do a great job ! in example - we told the host that the vault toilets were out of hand sanitizer and they told us we dont do that the service will provide. Very disappointing that their job description is just be there ????

Winnie Dam campground is the place to stay. Camp hosts are welcoming and friendly. The campground is well kept and the park down by the dam is great for the little ones as well as the adults. Will be going back for sure. Happy camping everyone!!

In addition to a great campground the camp hosts were very helpful when I needed help because of a hamstring injury.

Very nice clean bathrooms and showers (2). Nice shaded sites. The water is not visible from your sites, but we knew that. I would recommend staying there.

Nice small quiet campground, clean showers. We had rain all week. We came to bike ride, I thought there were trails closer, but we had to drive 25 miles to Cass Lake to the Migizi Trail. We could have also take a ride on the Heartland trail out of Cass Lake to Walker but the weather wasn't cooperating. If you wanted to fish, I would highly recommend this campground. A little tight at the Dump Station but water pressure was good and you didn't have to drag out your own hoses.

Worst possible experience. There was a squatter in my spot that refused to leave. Harassed and threatened me when I tried to claim my reserved campsite. Called the recreation.gov phone number to complain and they said there was nothing they could do and gave me a phone number of a "local ranger". Called them multiple times and no answer and return call from voicemail I left. Have tried numerous times to try and get my camping fee back but hear NOTHING from recreation.gov.

No water at sites, but it is close. Bring a container if tenting or a small camper without holding tank. Park was very clean. Manager very friendly, Had a great time.

Love this campground. Small but sites very spacious. Not alot for kids to do & since no kids with me I found it very quiet & peaceful. One shower house very clean.

Campsite was a very nice location. Liked the walk to the dam. Nice camp hosts and cute goodie bag. Still using the bag as we continue to our journey to Alaska.

As we entered the campground I said to my fianc what the heck. The first site to our left had multiple vehicles, 7 dogs and a pontoon boat almost on the driveway. Then you see the host site...5-6 cars, 3 tents and their camper. Individuals riding around on mini bikes, restrooms/showers disgusting. On our second night, woken up by fireworks going off at midnight! I have stayed here numerous times over the last few years and enjoyed every other stay. After my last stay, I can honestly say I don't know if I will ever go back. It was embarrassing, especially when we had family come and visit. This experience left me very disappointed and the worse part was we were planning on staying there a lot more. Only highlight was going to a friend's site there and feeling like we were in another world. Simply embarrassing!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
