The campground it's self was beautiful. Unfortunetally while we were there a devastating storm hit the campground. My mother and I sheltered in the bathrooms along with the other campers for 3 hours until the storms passed. We could hear the sirens going off every 15 min. The storms left tons of downed trees all over and unfortunately the campground will never be as beautiful as it once was. I am very thankfull that there was strong bathroom that held up durring the storm. When the storm had passed we realized that 3 trees had fallen in our campsite over the fore ring and picnic table. The next morning it took firefighters 4.5 hours to clear the trees off the road enough that we could get out. We ended up leaving a day early because the campground was not usable. This was no fault of anyone but bad timing with bad weather. I hope to go back again once they get the area cleaned up. We kayaked the river east and saw a huge muskie in the water and spent some time fishing at the pier.

Always enjoy this camp ground.
BUT...this year the upkeep of the grounds is terrible...as in minimum MOWING !!!
Is the Gov. to cheap to alot fuel for mowing or campground host too lazy.
Do better...2 out of 5 stars
