Love this particular loop of Carden's Bluff. I have camped on 25, 27, 28, 29. Enjoyed all of them. My only problem is the trail around the water edge has not been maintained. (That is how you get to the water if you are not camping on #26 or #27.) There is a heavy amount of poison ivy on the trail and some trip hazards from long gone trees. Carrying a float or kayak is difficult, much less leading children.

Really enjoyed our time at Cardenas Bluff Campround. Only 2 things are a an issue: Online map showed site I booked in a different location and being lake front. Instead I was opposite of the lake and next to the bathroom so we embraced it and we had fun and we very happy with where we ended up. I would recommend correcting your map though as it made finding our spot difficult and may cause problems with others who book thinking they are lake front. The only other issue is check out should be at least 12. Its woodsy and shaded I found getting my tent and foot print down and dry enough to pack in difficult due to amount of moisture on the bottom. I am very careful with my tent and do not have flat sunny area to do this once returning home. Trying to feed everyone breakfast and get folks ready for the day and campsite completely packed is a lot to do by 11am. Check in is at 2 so extending check out to 12 still leaves a 2 hour window in between checking in/out. Those are my suggestions, bu otherwise we had a great time and look forward to coming back next year.

We have been camping at Cardens Bluff for 3 years and have enjoyed the camping there. This year the entrance gate is no longer locked at night. Consequently, there are vehicle driving through the campground all night long.For the last two years the potable external water faucets have been broken. If you try to get water from the faucet it comes out underneath because of missing diverter covers. A terrible waste of water. The repair would be easy and relatively inexpensive compared to cost of water loss. Not to mention the mess. The Diverters are $26 each from the manufacturer. No one seems to care. The last two times we didn't even see a Ranger. This last trip the campground bathrooms were much cleaner thanks to the campground hosts.

Have enjoyed this camp ground in the past. On this trip: the gate is no longer locked after 10pm, though a locked gate sign was posted. This resulted in vehicles driving around thru out the night. Bathrooms were very dirty, not cleaned in the 3 days of our stay. Dog leash requirement was not enforced. No Ranger presence in 3 days. Very loud music during the day from nearby campsite. Otherwise, a very nice camp ground.

Have been camping at CB for several years. We find the Camp Hosts are helpful. The area is picked up well. We like the area for activities and relaxing.

The visit was awesome I had my whole family there an the host was very polite an done there rounds an talked to us asking if we needed any thing an clean bath rooms an shower house! I’ll be back just like every year

Another beautiful camping experience at Carden's Bluff. The hosts were super serious about cleaning bathrooms, and everything was very pleasant. The only thing with Watauga Lake is the likelihood of motorboat and jetski noise. Really really loud sometimes.
