when we arrived at the campground, we didnt like our location (22) We went to speak with the camp host to look for another site. since we had 2 nites , she gave us #26 and the next nite, #27. We placed our envelope in both sites to signify to others that the space was reserved. We immediately unpacked and started to have lunch. A man arrived with his son and asked if we were in that spot. We told him that we were and he said that the host had just assigned it to him. Several minutes later a different campground host (not the one who we had the exchange with) told us we needed to leave, that he had rented the space to the man and his son. We packed up and left cardens bluff and didnt come back. We had an exchange with the ranger and he gave us a full refund. that only slightly made up for the inconvienience, preparation, miles traveled and great dissappointment. The ranger said that he would notify me by email, once he had investigated, and let me know just how that the situation should have been handled. I have never heard back from him. I wonder if I will ever hear anything back from taking this survey. I was extrememely dissappointed in my experience at cardens bluff. I dont know if I will ever go back.

Cardens Bluff is our favorite camping destination. The campsites are set with a buffer between them. The bathrooms were clean and dry. Very quiet and relaxing in the fall....wonderful retreat.
