Had an amazing time at beautiful Watauga Lake. Jeffrey, the camp host is super helpful and nice. Campsite was great.

My family loves this campground and the lake. However, the campground is being neglected. Bathrooms were disgusting, not just your standard campground dirty, We are talking next level, feces smeared on the wall. The water spigots were not working around campsites 40,41, and 42, so the closest available water was a long walk. Not sure if cleaning the firepit ashes between campers is a standard, but the firepit was full of ashes. on arrival. Also, seems strange they do not sell firewood. Seems like it promotes bringing in wood which risks carrying tree-killing insects or diseases. I guess it's only $12 a night....

We have stayed a combined total of 18 days at Cardens Bluff campground. We stayed on 4 different sites. During the times we were there, one of the hosts went on vacation and wasnt there for at least 3 weeks. The other host kept a sign on the post at his site that said host currently unavailable . The fire pits had leftover trash and food in them from the previous campers. Not once were the bathrooms at the bath house cleaned. All that was done was trash taken out every other day and occasionally the host would sweep one swipe at the door. I intentionally watched to see what was being done. We camped there last year and had no complaints. The current hosts are not doing their jobs at all. The hosts from the previous few years were wonderful. I hope they come back next year.

Fix bathrooms around campground. Overall improve general maintenance and park upkeep. Fire pit was not clear on arrival, full of ashes. Despite all that, I still love it. But please don’t let it get worse.

We had the best lot on the campground. (41) It was beautiful and peaceful and the caretaker was easy to work with and helpful. The on site showers are convenient and while we had to walk a bit to setup camp running water was available nearby. Only bad thing about our stay was the neighbors several campsites away had a lot of kids and they were very loud but that's not the parks fault. We will go again to camp, hopefully when kids are back in school!
