Great campsite, excellent facilities, nice walking path, and enjoyable kayaking.

I spent ten days on A loop. My site was perfection! The new owners of the general store were very nice! Billy even sent some mail off for me when he went into town. Two downsides 1. The bathroom takes FOREVER to get hot water in the shower!!! Im guessing that there is no tankless heater. Plus, once you get the hot water (10-15 minutes!!!) you must shower one handed as you must hold the button to keep it going. 2. The campground host Martha was grumpy. When Jenis was there, both he and his wife were very nice and accommodating. Upsides, the trail is always a treat and the new bridges are very well made. The new store owner also rents bikes, canoes, and bike boats, which looked really cool and seemed sturdy.

The sites themselves are lovely and well appointed. We camped in Loop A and loved being so close to the beach and lake. The camp store was a delight. We appreciated that this campground is so family-friend, but on the downside, there were kids riding bikes within ten feet of our tent and yelling until 1am every night. It was disappointing that the quiet hours were not respected. Also, if you're a tent camper, be prepared to be surrounded by RVs, some of which have glowing lights on all night. It felt less like sleeping in the woods and more like being in a Walmart parking lot.

Sites are well spaced so your not on top of someone. The great lake offers a lot of out door experiences, Camping store has most anything you need if you left something behind. I had left my life jacket behind, and they offered me one of theirs to use. Friendly HOST campers.

Best National Forest campground we've found. Cherohala Skyway fabulous hiking. Indian Boundary Lake a nice paddle. Bald Creek Falls is gorgeous. And Tellico Plains a wonder little town. This is our annual October trip.

We were there for a week. Campground is very clean. Camp host was very friendly and helpful, as was the camp store. We had our own kayaks and enjoyed the lake.
