Always a great camping experience at Parksville

This was our first time camping here - when we arrived on Friday, 4/5/24, we saw a Burn Notice (for the next two days) on the door of the bathhouse. Not knowing the area, we did not recognize where exactly the burn would be happening. No map was provided. The next day, 4/6, the campground began filling with smoke - and with helicopters overhead, and the smoke becoming thicker and thicker, everyone began packing up and leaving. There was no way to stay - one of our party has lung issues, and by the time we left, my eyes were burning. Needless to say, our trip was cut short. I checked back to the email that arrived 2 days before the trip - and there was no mention of the burn. Recreation.gov needs to be more proactive in letting people know if hazardous conditions might develop. We would have been happy to find another campground had we been given notice. Very poor communications.

Sites were narrow and tricky to back into by yourself. fortunately, I realized this ahead of time by seeing the photo of the site online so I made sure I got there before dark. After several tries I got my rig in there straight. The guy next to me in number 15 didnt do so well. He got here after dark and was out there for about 45 minutes with the help of someone else shouting out verbal directions .

Great campground sites are spread out and level bathhouse where good and clean.

Camp host was very nice. Campground was clean. There was a few maintenance issues like a leaking water spout and a flickering light but, I'm sure that will be repaired soon. I will be back. Overall had a great time.

Very nice small campground with wonderfully clean bathrooms with actual hot showers. Located near several trails in Cherokee National Forest with waterfalls. Be prepared to have little or no cell service at the campground. We would stay at this campground again as it was very dog friendly and had good size lots with many trees. Very quiet and peaceful. The campground hosts were very accessible and visible.

Small campground with well laid out sites. Very quiet, clean, friendly camp hosts. No cell reception, make of that what you will. Beautiful area, easy to find and get to.

This is a beautiful campground. The cammp host was great. The only down side was lack of cell service.

Very clean, very nice. The couple who host this camp site could not have been nicer to me and my family. They were very kind and helpful. The campground was clean and quiet.

We where pleasantly surprised by this little National Park campground. Good size sites, the campground is well maintained, older bath house but very clean. The volunteer host was friendly and helpful. And sending a big THANK YOU to the two young rangers that assisted us the day we where leaving.
