Pit toilets clean with no odor. Campsites very nice!FYI: Campers are destroying Birch Trees due to their hacking of the trees with hatchets / axes. Peeling their bark off. Maybe better monitoring of campers actions or signs?# Confusion as to whether the Day Lake Beach and large picnic area is included in the camping fee?? Not talking about the beach within the campground. (Federal area off highway outside of Clam Lake). We have had Federal Park Employees tell us, that area is included in the camping fee, others telling us an additional $5.00 fee is required on top of the camping fee. What is the requirement???

We drove 3 1/2 hours to go camp for the weekend after reserving a space online and upon showing up to the campsite we noticed there was a someone in our spot with a camper, we tried to see if there was any spots open for the night to just stay till morning till we talked with someone but they all had someone in them so with not knowing the area and not preparing to have to spend money on a hotel we had to drive 3 1/2 hours back home. I heard great things about the campsite and area and we were excited to spend the weekend in hopes to come back with our kids but I don’t see that happening now. We were given no contact information for the campground/site or directions to the campsite other then the site number and reservation dates.
