We had a wonderful Weekend camping. The facilities were clean and close by. Everyone was friendly and the lake and path around was beautiful. Site 8 was secluded and large. Would definitely stay again!

This is a great campground. The host Stephanie is awesome. The Forest service needs to work on the sewer smell near the lake. It will take your breath. Other than that its a great place.

LWS is a fabulous campground! We went back to back weekends and stayed 1 night on the North Loop (the campsite was beautiful and wooded) and then 3 nights on the South Loop (the campsite was large, wooded and right next to the creek). Even with rain both weekends it was a great experience! This was my first time camping and couldn’t have asked for a better campground to go to! The managers are phenomenal, restrooms spotless and again just a great experience! We will definitely be back!!!

Campsite was blown off of all leaves before we arrived. Very nice. Bathrooms were very clean. Park manager who came around and checked us in was as nice and friendly as could be. We had an excellent time once again. This is our 15th time to this site.

Nice place where days blend together. No cell service, large private sites surround by dense woods add a large sense of peacefulness needed to truly get away.

We were surrounded by such beauty! The lake is very nice and the camp sites. We gotta double site and it was very roomy for us and our friends. The site managers (Dan & Ruth Ann) were very accommodating when we needed wood and ice. They were very nice, too!! We will be back!

We loved our campsite and the rest rooms were well maintained.

Was our first time at this campground. The double site we had was in good shape with plenty of room for all of us. There is no cell service which was one of the reason we chose this park. Disconnecting the kids from their phones was a bonus.

Beautiful forested campground, plenty of room between spacious campsites, great hiking, a nice lake and friendly, helpful hosts.

I grow more disappointed every year with the conditions at this park. We have been camping here for almost 30 years. When we first started coming the lake was deep and clean, now it's silted in and muddy. The vegetation around much of the upper end was kept cut back so that many people could have access at the same time, now it's so grown up you have to try to find a little hole in the bushes just to get to the lake to fish or see. The roads have potholes and are in poor condition, this is bad enough for cars but when my kids were young we always brought our bicycles. I can see a little kid going over the handle bars from hitting some of the potholes that have not been taken care. I realize it takes money to care of these things but when you have a treasure like Winfield Scott it's worth a little of the tons of money we spend every to take care of it. The camp hosts as always were friendly and the rest rooms and camp sites were in decent shape. I still love camping here and so does my family, and extended family. If your coming here for the first time keep in mind the area has been scoured for fire wood so do yourself a favor and bring it with you. Paul Blair
