Loved this campground! Highly recommend camping, hiking, and snorkeling. Make sure you lock up your food boxes so the island foxes cant steal your banana bread haha. This is a great place to visit.

A beautifully quiet and windswept island recovering from decades of ranching. Plenty of toilets and running water at the campground. Do not forget a proper way to pack out your trash. Bring your snorkeling gear and a wetsuit!

Absolutely loved our 2 night stay. Highly recommend the kayak cave tour. Hiking to Smugglers cove was a favorite. Camp sites are well taken care of, definitely use the fox boxes. And YES ravens will open zippers to bags. As experienced by a fellow camper.

This is an excellent campground overall, On pristine Santa Cruz Island. Two things would've made my experience much better. The table at my campsite 006 was leaning at the significant angle out of horizontal, which is extremely inconvenient. This could've been easily fixed in a few minutes with a couple of Rangers and, a chunk of word. Although only two years old since the remodel, the table was heavily warped at both ends and two bolts were missing. Things like this should be repaired promptly and not just shrugged off as "that's OK". Also, there is no water in the dock area where there are often hundreds of people. You have to walk half a mile into the campsite to get water. Inexplicable and inconvenient.

Cavern Point to Potato Harbor overlook is definitely worth hiking the views were stunning. Scorpion Canyon Loop trail was a bit more challenging worth hiking. The visitor center is very small and cute but shares some important history of the island. The campsites where well shaded, all staff on island were very friendly.

Great place to set up camp for day hikes in the area. There are a few interesting historical sites nearby. There is a small beach about half a mile away from the campground (by the pier) that you can swim in. Plenty of space between campsites and the island foxes love to get up close to swipe some of your food!

Beautiful island with so much to do. Loved the hiking, snorkeling, and of course the kayaking. I will be back!

Gorgeous island and trip. The rangers were helpful and informative! I liked this site as it was close to the drinking water spigot, and a short walk to the facilities.

Nice campground! Good (pit) toilets, water, and nice trails nearby. We hiked from Prisoner's Harbor to Scorpions and the trip was spectacular.

Scorpion Campground was amazing! just a quick half mile from the harbor and bathrooms on both ends. There is a potable water pump, and the campgrounds are a good size with picnic tables and fox boxes. I very highly recommend! We had a great time.

Campsite facilities were very well kept and clean. Spacious camp areas, largely level, and decent shade/light mix

Wonderfull campground secluded under the canopy of eucalyptus trees. Clean and organized and simple. Just remember + no open files or charcoal. Also really pay attention to food as the foxes are watching you, and our neighbours went hungry after forgetting to lock the food into the metal box. No food at all is available on the island. Have a great time as we did

campsite was great. island is full of invasive (plant) species, sadly, but hopefully the park will put some focus on that issue.

As a mobility disabled older adult, I found the experience fantastic. The rangers were very helpful, the campsites were clean and roomy. The pit toilet facilities cleaned every day. I was able, with frequent stops, to walk at least 2 miles every day, which is exceptional for a very mobility limited person. After having my service dog get multiple vaccinations and lab tests, she was able to accompany me, as I could not have taken this trip without her. I am very grateful the NPS gave me an avenue to be able to bring her. Overall a wonderful experience for me. I look forward to returning soon and attempt to see more of the island.
