It is difficult to get your stuff from the boat to the camp spot. That should be focused on when packing. Make sure to zip your tent to the top to avoid the foxes getting in your tent. They are relentless. No fires. Some of the tables are not level at all so plan on trying to level your stove since that's all you can cook on. I was a little disappointed on how there seem to be not much care at all for the tables being level. Otherwise, the island is AMAZING!

The vibrant peaceful energy of this island is a dream. We are so lucky it is so close to Los Angeles. The group campsites are quite large. This one has trees on both sides and is directly adjacent to the bathrooms and potable water. The bathrooms is both a good and a bad thing. It was very windy the whole time we were there until day 3 when and when the wind died down, we could smell the bathroom when we were close to it's we were able to set up our tents pretty far away though, so it was a non-issue. Trees are very large trunks so bring extenders for your hammock. During the day, there are no bad views- the island is a California paradise, and the night sky is hypnotizing. You can see the milky way. My son counted 66 fox sightings and we even saw babies multiple times. Bring stuff for wind (windbreakers) and sun (hats and sun shirts). Plan your food well. Overall an amazing experience.

Such a beautiful place to visit!! Everyone saying to visit during winter time is correct, coming here in February was already good weather/ kinda hot so I can't even imagine summer. Be ready for lots of hills, make sure to see potato harbor @ sunset and either Scorpion Cove dock or I'd imagine cavern loop outlook would be beautiful for sunrise. So amazing!

Absolutely gorgeous location. We were in group site B, there is tons of room to set up tents. Bathrooms & potable water were both right next to our site (no issues with bathroom smells though). Plenty of foxes visit you and they are quite the little daredevils going for any food they can find so definitely keep stuff locked away in the fox boxes. There aren't a ton of trees but still enough to find a location for a hammock. Our site was one of the farthest ones from the dock but still not a bad walk, you really don't have to limit yourself to backpacking gear. You can also hike to the potato harbor from right across the site.

A bit crowded and not very secluded, but there is water and up-to-date restrooms.
